A scholarship fund has been established in the memory of Jeff Milano-Johnson, the 14 year old varsity lacrosse high school freshman who died while practicing for a lacrosse game in 2007. Full Story

Wednesday: Penn Yan and Canandaigua Win

Both Penn Yan and Canandaigua were able to unload their benches as the Mustangs beat visiting McQuaid Jesuit (18-7) and Canandaigua beat Waterloo 21-1 in Wednesday action. Full Story

There were ten games in Section Five today. Livonia had an exciting win over Geneva, HFL won their game in OT, Irondequoit won their fifth game of the season with a win over Churchville-Chili and Pittsford beat Schroeder 9-5. Full Story

Friday: Corning East over CA, H-B over MW

Canandaigua traveled to Corning today to face Section IV powerhouse, Corning East. After a 3-1 half, the Trojans won 9-6 in a game that could be replayed in the post-season. Bloomfield-Honeoye was a 8-4 victory over Marcus Whitman in the other Friday game. Full Story

Saturday: Penn Yan 6 - Fairport 5 - Down to the Wire

In a game that was close right to the end, Penn Yan won a 6-5 victory over visiting Fairport. McQuaid Jesuit beat visiting Loyola Academy (IL), 12-5. Schroeder was a 10-5 winner over Geneva. Other winners include HFL, Brighton, Pal-Mac, Binghamton (over Penfield 13-12) and Aquinas. Full Story

The SportsFive "Stat Crew" offered a clinic for lacrosse statisticians in order to review the impact of the new "NCAA Statisticians' Manual". Sixteen people from a total of seven schools attended the program, held in Pittsford, this morning to study the "new" definitions and to learn how to use data collection forms that were made available by SportsFive.
