NOTES:  In the closest contest of the night, Brighton forced overtime with only 0:04 remaining in regulation on their way to defeating Fairport 10-9. This was the first time that the Barons had defeated the Red Raiders (who have won the last five meetings). With regret, Avon Athletic Director Andy Englert announced that the Avon Braves have cancelled the rest of their season, due to lack of available players. The team, which started with fifteen players, had a number of injuries and other issues that took the number of available players to less than ten. Full Story

Wednesday: Gananda and Geneva Win Tonight

Churchville Beats Lightning 14-10

NOTES:  Churchville-Chili took the lead back from Greece Arcadia/Olympia with 1:09 remaining in the first quarter and held off all their advances to defeat the Lightning 14-10. The Saints scored the final two goals of the contest to cement the victory. Gavin Catalano had a strong game for Gates between the pipes with 20 saves (59%) and was a key factor in keeping the Lightning in the game. Midfielder Matt McHale was a part of 60% of the scoring with 5g-1a. Full Story

NOTES:  Thomas continued their winning streak having won the last 11 contests (including three by only a single goal). The Titan's only two losses of the season have been with undefeated Victor and previously undefeated Pittsford. The Titans held off a late scoring drive by Penfield to defeat the Patriots 8-7. Midlakes Over Mynderse 11-8

NOTES:  In their second meeting of the season, Midlakes defeated Mynderse 11-8 (they defeated the Blue Devils 9-7 on April 9th). Like in their first meeting, the game changed leaders multiple times. Back in April, Midlakes took the early lead before Mynderse fought back to take the lead in the third quarter. Midlakes scored the final four goals and held the Blue Devils scoreless for the final 12:21. Full Story

NOTES:  Hilton scored the game winning goal with 0:09 remaining in regulation to defeat Webster Schroeder 9-8. Schroeder scored the first goal of the contest with an unassisted goals from Blake Balcaen and Jared Griffin. Hilton then scored five unanswered goals with scoring for Zeus Doser (3), Michael Richardson and Jordan DePetres. Doser was the big scorer of the night with 4g-1a. Haverling Wins in Overtime

NOTES:  Haverling scored the final four goals of the game including the game winner in overtime to defeat Waterloo 8-7. This was the first win for the Rams since 2012 and this was only their third win against the Indians in program history. NOTES: In a back and forth game, Canandaigua scored the final four goals to secure a 12-8 win over Rush-Henrietta. The game was a close one throughout with five ties and three lead changes. The Braves came out with the opening goal to take the first lead of the contest. Patrick Bay scored unassisted with the first of his 2g-1a. R-H scored the next goal with Nick Lenhard scoring off a pass from Curtis Raymond. Raymond was one of the big scorer for the Royal Comets with 1g-2a. Jake Hughes also finished with 3g for R-H. Greece Arcadia/Olympia scored six out of seven straight goals to secure their 10-6 win over Brockport. The game was close for the first two quarters before the Lightning opened up their scoring in the late second/early third quarters. Quinton Caleb score the opening goal of the contest for the Blue Devils with an assist from Austin Myers. Myers finished with a team leading 1g-2a. Caleb led the Blue Devils in shots with 10 (4 on cage). Full Story

Spencerport 10 - Thunder 9 in Overtime

NOTES:  In one of the strongest comebacks in recent years, Spencerport fought back from a 9-0 deficit to defeat Greece Athena/Odyssey 10-9. The Thunder were leading 9-0 with 4:26 remaining in the third quarter when their final goal was scored. The first Ranger goal was scored with 3:57 remaining in third quarter. They old added one more goal in third quarter, an unassisted goal from Victor Pascucci with 0:01 remaining. Spencerport scored seven goals in the fourth quarter to tie the game. Full Story

NOTES:  After losing to Canisius 8-3 in their second game of the season, Aquinas redeemed themselves tonight defeating the Crusaders 11-5. The win came on the outstanding play by sophomore goalie Tony Deleo. Deleo was 53% in their first contest with nine saves compared to 77% with 17 saves in tonight's contest. Deleo stepped up in the third quarter especially with 7 saves while holding the Crusaders scoreless. Full Story

NOTES:  In a game that was plagued by penalties, second seeded Webster Thomas defeated sixth seeded Irondequoit 14-12. The first half was relatively tame with two personal penalties and one technical. However, in the second half there were nine personals and seven technical. Section Five Championship Day - Wednesday May 27th

Section 6 - Championships will be on Tuesday, May 26th at Grand Island. In Class A Clarence (#1) lost to Orchard Park (#2). In Class B Hamburg(#1) defeated Niagara Wheatfield (#2) and in Class C Akron (#1) beat Silver Creek (#3). Penn Yan Wins 20th Sectional Championship

Penn Yan came out strong with a 9-0 start before defeating Aquinas 12-2. The Mustangs win gave them their 20th Section Five title. Midfielder Austin Fingar finished the game with 3g-2a and was named Class C All Tournament MVP. The attack from Penn Yan finished with 7g-2a between them and were all named to the All-Tournament Team, Sean Emerson, Craig Gerhardt and Tate Stewart. Full Story

Victor Repeats at Section Five Champ

Victor scored seven unanswered goals on their way to a 20-8 win over Webster Thomas. The game was close for the first quarter before a weather delay between the first and second quarters. Coming out of the delay, Victor scored five unanswered goals to increase their lead to 9-2. The Blue Devils had 10 players make their offensive scorebook with Drew Collins leading with 4g-2a. Pittsford Wins Championship

After their last minute loss last season in the Sectional Finals, The Panthers came back this season looking for the big win. After a back and forth first quarter where Penfield held the lead twice, the Panthers scored four unanswered goals to go up 5-2 and they never looked back. Pittsford defeated Penfield 11-6 to secure their fourth Sectional title and first since 2011. Full Story

The Mustangs scored the first four goals of the game and led throughout the contest. A short lightning delay in the opening quarter stopped play with Penn Yan leading 1-0.
