This is the first regular season rankings and there have not been many games played yet that can help in determining position. Of the twenty-seven games played last week, only seven were league contests. Full Story

Rush Henrietta scored the final three goals of regulation to force overtime where senior Torry Whitcher scored the game winning goal only 0:50 into the first overtime period and secured the 14-13 win over Gates-Chili. Full Story

Five games were canceled for today due, mostly to poor field conditions, but eleven games were played in the often bitter cold throughout the Section. Full Story

In the single game played today, a makeup of an earlier postponed match up, Cory Gray scored the game winner with 0:41 left in the game. The Pride started off with a bang, scoring the first (unanswered) goals in the game and led after the first quarter 6-1. Full Story

Pittsford traveled to Orchard Park (Section Six, Buffalo) where the Panthers and the Quakers played great defense, took home a 4-2 victory. Brockport overcame their deficit and scored the winning goal, late in the game as the Blue Devils beat ER 10-9. Full Story

We note, with sadness, the passing of long time Mynderse Academy coach, Al Henry, who died unexpectedly this week in his winter home in Florida. Full Story

There were lots of unexpected results today, as teams started to make statements. Thomas was a decisive winner over Canandaigua, Victor beat R-H, The Lightning beat the Thunder by one goal in a "Storm Game". Full Story

Although we are now certainly into the season, the games results from last week have only resulted in a few changes at the top. A number of teams, however have earned higher placement this week. Full Story

There were three Finger Lakes games played this afternoon. Mynderse was a 16-9 winner over the Pride, Newark beat Midlakes 7-3 and Geneva was a 6-4 winner over Pal-Mac. Full Story

Senior midfielder Zach Hammond (1g-1a) scored the winning goal with 0:35 seconds left to give Bloomfield-Honeoye the 5-4 win at Honeoye High School. Full Story

Perhaps the most exciting game of the day was at Irondequoit tonight, where Pittsford kept their winning streak alive with a 13-11 win over the Eagles. Full Story

The Fairport Red Raiders outscored Thomas with a score of 4-2 in both the first and second quarters on their way to a 12-9 win at McAvoy Park today. Junior goalie Andrew Clark has 22 saves to help Haverling win a 16-7 victory over visiting Chenango Valley (Section 4).

Duxbury used a third quarter flurry of goals to nail down a 10-7 victory over Irondequoit this morning. Geneva posted five goals late in the game but lost in overtime to Canandaigua (11-10) and Penn Yan defeated Lakeland/Panas 8-5 this afternoon. Full Story

The Rams used steady scoring over four quarters in their 14-9 win at Spencerport tonight. McQuaid Jesuit finished their west coast tour with a 10-3 loss to La Costa Canyon (CA) last night. Full Story

Aquinas and Webster Thomas played a close game, with the Little Irish winning 8-7 at McAvoy Park. Pittsford beat Penfield 12-2, Geneva beat Marcus Whitman (13-3) and East Rochester was a 21-3 winner over Bishop Kearney. Full Story

There was only one game in the Section today and although it was originally scheduled as a "Friday Night Lights" game at the Academy, field conditions required that it be moved to Evans Field at 11:00 AM. Full Story

Fairport traveled to Ithaca where the Little Red, ranked #5 in lat week's NYS poll, defeated the Red Raiders 9-4. Meanwhile, the Penfield Patriots beat the Binghamton Patriots 12-5 in Penfield. Alex Miles led the offense with 5g-1a. Full Story

As many teams celebrated the spring break, there were relatively few games last week, but there were some results that led us to make a change in the rankings. To be sure, there will be more telling results in the very full week that is coming up. Full Story

Under heavy rains throughout most of the Section Livonia pounded Bishop Kearney 23-1 and East Rochester beat Gananda 19-7. The Rush-Henrietta at Hilton game was canceled. Full Story

Eleven games were cancelled throughout the afternoon, some at noon and some at the field. Penn Yan got a whole 1:05 into their game with Baldwinsville, and was in the lead (1-0) before they had to given in to the weather. There must have been a sunny patch in Chili as Churchville-Chili beat Gates Chili 16-4. Full Story

Jake Silver, Brighton High class of 2009, played defense on the Brighton boys' lacrosse team. In 2008 he received Monroe County All League Honorable Mention. Full Story

Penfield traveled to Section Six to beat Orchard Park 9-8 in overtime. Although Thomas scored the first two goal of the game, Pittsford caught up and then used steady pressure as they defeated Webster Thomas 10-7 at Nazareth this afternoon. Full Story

In a a close game at Penn Yan, Fairport held off an late attack and beat the Mustangs 9-8. Hilton scored five goals in the final quarter to come back and defeat Canandaigua 13-12. Full Story

Section Five Lacrosse Chairman, Mike Simon announced today some changes in the lacrosse tournament schedules. The changes are the result of the many weather related scheduling problems throughout the Section. Full Story

Livonia and Pal-Mac both had huge scores against opponents in the only two games on Friday. Livonia posted an 18-2 win over visiting Gananda and the Red Raiders beat Midlakes 24-2 at home. Full Story
