Penn Yan and Eastridge Win Monday

Penn Yan had ten different players on the scorebook as they defeated visiting Newark 18-1 on Monday night. Full Story

Both Websters Win

Both Schroeder and Thomas were winners in games played today. The Warriors beat Amherst (Section 6) 10-4 and the Titans beat Fairport 13-12 in a game full of momentum swings. Other winners included Livonia, McQuaid Jesuit, Brighton, Churchville-Chili, Geneva and Canandaigua. Full Story

Midlakes over Pal-Mac

In the only game played on Wednesday, Midlakes won their first game of the season with a 7-2 victory over visiting Pal-Mac. Full Story

A Number of Cancellations Thursday

Most games scheduled for today were cancelled as cold temperatures and intermit ant snow was offset by moments for bright sunshine. Full Story

Geneva over HFL

Cold weather and a few snow showers made for uncomfortable sidelines and fans at Waterloo, where the only two games in the Section were played today. Full Story

SportsFive Rankings - Week 3

There are no changes in Class C this week and Penn Yan remains in 1st place. Livonia had a win against Pal-Mac and although Midlakes and Waterloo are tied at 1-3 Waterloo has played tougher competition. Mynderse at 2-2 has wins against 0-3 teams. Full Story

CA, Schroeder, McQuaid Jesuit & Irondequoit Win

Every game was expected to be close today, and although day-time games cut into the spectator numbers, many fans were not disappointed as the Schroeder/Penn Yan, Canandaigua/Fairport and McQuaid Jesuit/Brighton games were won by single goal margins. Full Story

Wednesday Games

The Pittsford/Spencerport game was postponed this afternoon after a Pittsford player was seriously injured during warm ups. Full Story

Pittsford Player Dies of Injuries

Pittsford Varsity attackman, Jeff Milano-Johnson died today after being struck with a ball during warm ups prior to Wednesday's scheduled game at Spencerport. The fourteen year old freshman, who currently leads the team in scoring was a starter for the Panthers along with his brother, senior midfielder Doug. Full Story

Thursday Games

Five games were played today, several starting with a moment of silence for Jeff Milano-Johnson. Section Five faired well against Section Six as Schroeder beat Hamburg and Penfield beat Timon. Penn Yan defeated Fairport and Geneva beat McQuaid Jesuit, while Thomas was the winner over Brockport. Full Story

Brighton over Livonia in OT

In the only game on Friday, Brighton won their game with Livonia in overtime 6-5. The Barons scored the first and only two goals in the first quarter and the Bulldogs came back with two unanswered goals in the second quarter to start the halftime break with a 2-2 tie. Full Story

Saturday Games

Six games were scheduled for Saturday. Penfield, Hilton, Thomas, McQuaid Jesuit and Carthage were among the winners. No report was received for the Mynderse/Hamilton game. Full Story

A "Celebration of Jeff's Life" will be held on Monday, April 16th from 4-7 pm in the gymnasium of the Church of the Transfiguration. Full Story

Canandaigua over Schroeder

In a preview of a possible final four Class A game, Canandaigua was a winner over Webster Schroeder 9-7 at McAvoy. Thomas was a 15-7 winner over Brighton and Irondequoit took a 12-6 win over HFL. Full Story

NYS Poll for 2007 - Week 2

The State poll is out today and nine Section Five teams made the list sponsored by the New York State Sportswriters Association. Webster Schroeder moved up to the number 8 spot in Class A with Canandaigua (#19) and Irondequoit (#20) following. Churchville-Chili and Webster Thomas made the honorable mention list. Full Story

Thursday Games - Back to Home Fields

Although a number of games were cancelled or moved, seven games were played on home fields in unusual bright sunshine and warm weather. Full Story

Penn Yan falls in OT

Lafayette scored two goals in the last few minutes of the game and then scored the game winner in the second over time period to give the Section 3 team a 10-9 victory over host Penn Yan. In other games on Friday, Irondequoit remained undefeated with a 7-2 win over C-C, Hilton was a 19-5 winner over Ath/Ody and Aquinas was a 15-8 winner over Eastridge. Full Story

Beautiful Saturday

Finally, under bright and sunny skies, thirteen games were played under ideal conditions. Schroeder beat Orchard Park 10-6, Greece Arc/Ath won there first Varsity game and CA lost their first game of the season. There was lots of great lacrosse today. Full Story

Monday Games - Lightning

Four games were scheduled, but two were interrupted by lighting strikes in the area. The three winners were Victor, Midlakes and Newark. Full Story

Benefit Car Wash at IHS

A Car Wash, sponsored by the Irondequoit High School Varsity Boys Lacrosse team, will be held Sunday. Full Story

Tuesday Games - Close Ones

Although the high profile Schroeder-Irondequoit game was cancelled (date to be determined), there were eleven other games were played with several very close ones. Full Story

Canandaigua over Canisius

Canandaigua took an early 6-1 lead in the first quarter on their way to a 17-5 win over Canisius of Section VI Full Story

Lots of Games on Thursday

Twelve games were scheduled for Thursday and among the winners were Irondequoit, Penn Yan, Schroeder, Canandaigua, Livonia, Gates, Churchville and the Thunder. Also winning were Eastridge, Waterloo and Midlakes. Full Story

Canandaigua was a decisive winner over Penn Yan today. Fairport beat Corning East 10-3, Schroeder won the cross town game and Irondequoit remained undefeated with a win over Gates Chili today. Other winners included Eastridge, Brighton, R-H, C-C, Penfield and AQ . Full Story
