Monday: Pittsford Wins at Disney

No foolin' - Pittsford won their first of two games this week in Florida was they defeated Milton High School from Georgia 13-6. Although Milton scored the first goal of the game, the Panthers then took over leading 4-2 after the first quarter and 8-2 at the half. Full Story

Tuesday: Canandaigua Moves to 4-0 with win over Geneva

There were only five games played today. Canandaigua broke open a tie with Geneva to win their game at Evans Field, 8-5. Webster Thomas had an exciting 9-8 win over visiting Churchville-Chili. Full Story

Wednesday: Fairport over Hilton

There were two games played today. Fairport hosted Hilton and used twenty-three of its thirty-nine players to complete their stats as they finished with a 16-4 victory. Meanwhile, down on Long Island, Penfield lost to Comsewogue 9-8. Full Story

Thursday: Schroeder over Churchville 11-5

There were only four games played today. Webster Schroeder used seven goals in the second half to beat Churchville-Chili 11-5. Even scoring gave Aquinas a 15-11 win over visiting HF-L. Webster Thomas beat the Greece Lightning 15-5 and Brighton beat Brockport 15-2. Full Story

Friday: Penn Yan Gets 9-2 Win at Canandaigua

In the big rivalry game between Penn Yan and Canandaigua, the Mustangs started with a slow and steady scoring and finished with a 9-2 win at Exhibition Field in Canandaigua. Full Story

Saturday: Brighton over Gates, Fairport and both R-H Win

Brighton and Gates Chili played a good night game tonight. The Barons won 8-6. Fairport was a big winner over Victor 16-4 and Rush-Henrietta beat Waterloo 10-3. Down south, McQuaid Jesuit lost to Strake Jesuit of Texas 7-5. The game was played in Tampa. Full Story

Monday: Avon defeats Batavia 17-8

Avon had lots of offense on Monday, from two senior attackmen. Jimmy Appleton racked up nine goals and Ryan Doudt added 6g-1a as the "Green Machine" travel to Batavia and defeated the Blue Devils 17-8. Full Story

Thursday: Pittsford Over CA and Penfield Over OP

Pittsford scored seven unanswered goals spanning the second and third quarters to secure their 10-3 win over Canandaigua. Penfield won a convincing 10-3 victory from Orchard Park (Section 6). Full Story

There were three games played on Friday. Aquinas scored four goal sin the first and led at the half 9-0 in their 14-2 win over Sweet Home (Buffalo - Section 6). Full Story

Saturday: Fairport Defeats West Genesee in OT

There were lots of games played in an around Section Five today. The day started with Mynderse beating Waterloo 8-6 and ended with an overtime win for Fairport, who defeated West Genesee 9-8. Full Story

Brandon Maciejewski Selects Stony Brook

Penn Yan junior goalie Brandon Maciejewski recently announced his commitment to attend and play lacrosse at SUNY Stony Brook after his graduation in 2014. One of the most dramatic goalies in Section Five, "Mace" has played on the Mustang Varsity since 8th grade and has been a starter since his freshman year. Having logged more than 2,100 minutes in the goal, the junior has recorded 406 saves (63%). Last year he was named to the D&C Rochester Super 16, was a first team All Section Five player, the Class C Section Five Tournament MVP and a member of the All-Tournament team. Full Story

Midlakes had a 3-2 lead after the first quarter, but Newark took the rest of the game , winning 14-5 behind the efforts of Teddy Collins (4g-2a) and Cameron Casselman (3g-1a). Full Story

There were seventeen games scheduled for Tuesday and some although there were a number of mismatches, there were also some close ones. Mynderse took an early lead and fought off a late charge by Marcus Whitman to beat the Wildcats 10-7. Full Story

Tim Wright Signs NLI to Play at Post University

On the first day of the spring signing period, Waterloo senior Tim Wright signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his education and to play at Post University. Full Story

Thursday: Thomas over Irondequoit and Two OT Games

There were thirteen games scheduled for Thursday. There were some blow-outs and there were some close one. Pittsford remained undefeated with an 11-6 win over St. Joseph's. Full Story

Friday: Newark and Marcus Whitman Win Today

There were a number of out of section games played today and Section Six (Buffalo) won them all. Hamburg defeated Canandaigua 13-12, Orchard Park won their game with Pittsford and Williamsville-North beat Spencerport in overtime 13-12. Full Story

Saturday: Gananda over Waterloo 9-8 and Many Mismatches Today

There were 12 games played on Saturday and the vast majority were mismatches. Gananda and Waterloo, however, played a close one which saw the Blue Panthers winning 9-8. Full Story

Monday: Gates Chili Takes Pal-Mac, Whitman over Haverling

Of the four games played on Monday, two were close and two were not. Gates Chili scored four goals in a row to secure a 4-2 win over host Pal-Mac. Full Story

Tuesday: Irondequoit takes Corning, Gananda over Waterloo

Twelve of the sixteen games played on Tuesday were mismatches in which the winning teams outscored their opponents by 184-49. Irondequoit beat visiting Corning 13-8. Gananda beat Waterloo 8-7 and Hilton was a 10-7 winner over Greece Lightning. Full Story

On a cold and rainy night The Cougars scored seven goals in the first quarter and five more in the second on their way to a 16-6 win against visiting Avon. Junior attackman Ryan Kelly stole the show for HF-L with 6g-3a. Full Story

The Genesee Community College recently announced the signing of three players from Livonia, who are expected to sturdy at and play or the college after their graduation this spring. Full Story

Thursday: Thunder, Aquinas and Wayne Each Win by One Goal

A dozen games were played today. Three games were won by one goal, but most games were mismatches again today. In a "Storm game", Greece Ath/Ody (Thunder)beat Greece Arc/Oly (Lightning) 7-6. Full Story

Spring College Decisions

Many lacrosse players wait until the spring to make their decisions relating to continuing their lacrosse careers in college. Although some many sign contracts to play, many more simple enroll as students and play without scholarships. Full Story

The Greece Thunder (Ath/Ody) improved their record to 5-4 with a win over Brockport today. Aquinas defeated Haverling-Haverling in GRALL action and Mynderse was a winner in their game with Bishop Kearney. Full Story

Tuesday: Victor Takes Irondequoit, Fairport Defeats Penfield

Finally, there were a number of close games played in the section today. Victor held off a last minute attack by Irondequoit to hold on to a 7-6 win. Hilton beat the Lightning 8-6, McQuaid came back hard to beat Livonia 14-13 in overtime. Full Story
