Game Report: Thu - 04/01/2004

With heavy rains during the early morning, only one game was played on April Fool's Day. Mynderse (1-1) was the winner over Haverling, 9-6. Chris Warrick scored 3g, while Tim Ellis and Mike Lambert each scored 2g-1a for Mynderse. Liam Glover scored 2g-2a and Keegan Ordway added 2g for Haverling (1-1). Full Story

Six non-league games were played Saturday in the cold rain in and around Rochester. Waterloo won it's season opener 13-8 over Livonia at home as senior attackman, Mike Strom score a goal and added 6 assists.  Full Story

Pittsford's field was not ready, so the Panthers traveled to Irondequoit for their first outing under new Coach Carmine Peluso. The first half looked close as Pittsford took a 7-6 lead at the break, but the Eagles reorganized and held the Panthers scoreless from then on while scoring five of their own. Senior Jon Timkey scored 5g-1a and Corey Bottinglier added two more goals for Irondequoit (2-0). Junior attackman, Jake Boyce scored 4g for Pittsford (0-1).  Full Story

Two games were played Monday. Penfield overcame a 4-1 first half deficit to beat McQuaid Jesuit, 8-7 in their non-league game at McQuaid Jesuit.  Full Story

Two games were cancelled, but five games were on in the rain on Tuesday. Canandaigua and Fairport moved their game to Hobart College and the Braves (4-0) remained undefeated with their 10-7 win over Fairport.Senior Midfielder, Mike Pane led the effort with 4g along with junior attackmen, Chris Mulheron (2g-1a) and Brian Hadsell (2g). Defensive standouts were senior Brian McWilliams and junior Mike Seron. Sophomore goalie, Dan Serafine made 9 saves for Canandaigua. Full Story

Newark and Aquinas will advance to the finals of the Newark Tournament tomorrow having won their games today against Mynderse and Hilton. Newark saw 3 goals and an assist from senior Nate Colon and 3 goals from junior attackman Jason Johnson in the 11-6 win over Mynderse. Mike Kurdziolek scored 2 goals for the Blue Devils. Full Story

Mynderse Academy was the 10-3 winner against Tecumseh of Michigan who was in the area on a spring break trip. Scoring for Mynderse were Mike Kurdziolek (3g-4a), Adam Sanderson (4g), Troy Gothem (1g-1a), Tim Ellis (1g) and Jake Fitzgerald (1g). Mynderse goalie, Anthony Carnevale registered 9 saves. Senior attackmen, Pat Wahl scored six goals and 4 assists and Ryan Rossborough added four goals while midfielders, Tom Every and Josh Hendrickson had one goal and four assists each for Livonia as they beat Newark 18-8. Fourteen goals were assisted for the Bulldogs (3-2). Full Story

Penfield almost lost it's undefeated season for the second time this week, and Schroeder used overtime to defeat Rush-Henrietta. Canandaigua has no trouble hanging on to it's undefeated season with a Finger Lakes win over Victor.  Full Story

Game Report: Penfield over Irondequoit

 Certainly the tie breaking goal by senior middie, Clay Rice at the 4:16 mark of the last quarter was important to Penfield's win over Irondequoit, but this win was as much the result of defensive players as the players who scored the goals.  Full Story

Boiardi Fund Raising Effort

A group of Irondequoit lacrosse fans have announced that they are working to raise funds in the name of George Boiardi, the Cornell lacrosse player who died earlier this season. Over $2,000 has been raised thus far and donations are encouraged. Full Story

Game Report: Sat - 04/25/2004

There were lots of man-up opportunities at Livonia as Victor beat the Bulldogs 11-8. Victor took a 4-0 lead in the first quarter and extended the score to 7-2 at the half-time break. Livonia came back in the second half outscoring the Blue Devils 6-4. Victor had five man up goals on five tries including all three goals in the last quarter. Full Story

Friday: Livonia and Haverling Winners

It was the second day in a row for Livonia and Odyssey and it was Livonia winning again, 14-6. It was close in the first half with each team scoring 2 goals in one quarter and 1 goal in the other and the game was tied at 3 at the half time break. Livonia came alive in the second half, scoring 11g while holding Odyssey to 3 more. Full Story
