Pal-Mac and McQuaid Win Close Ones

DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - There were 11 games played today and 2 were close ones. Pal-Mac was a 8-7 winner over Geneva. McQuaid Jesuit defeated Pittsford by a score of 8-7. 

Walt Whitman at HFLBLOOMFIELD-HONEOYE-14 at GANANDA-3 - Junior defenseman Michael Thomas scored his first Varsity goal and Junior goalie Ethan Stoddard reached his 200th save with his 4 saves (201svs) for the Pride. Leading the scoring for Bloomfield-Honeoye (2-0) were John Blair (2g-4a), Liam Roach (4g), and Jonathan Nelson (4g) while Cody Whittaker won 14+/5- = 74% at the faceoff "X". Junior midfielder Jaydes Baerga (Gananda) scored his first Varsity goal for Gananda. Also scoring were Jacob Michaels and Erik Wisnoski.    [ BOX SCORE

MARCUS WHITMAN-0 at HFL-18 - Eight different players scored goals for HFL including Senior midfielder Luke Weiler who scored his first Varsity goal. Leading the scoring were Quinn Kailbourne (3g-3a), Chase Perryman (2g-4a), freshman attackman Grady Goodberlet (4g), and senior face off midfielder Drew Angelo (3g) who won 12+/2- = 86%. MIDLAKES-RED JACKET-17 at WATKINS GLEN-3 - Leading the scoring for Midlakes-Red Jacket in their season opener were Nate Lathrop (6g-1a), Stuart Quku (5g-2a), (1g-4a), Theodore Altman (1g-4a) and Freshman midfielder James Sprague (4g-1a) who scored his first Varsity goal. In the cage was senior Kaiden Larsen with 6s/1ga = 86% (36 mins) and junior Jacob O`Brien with 5s/2ga = 71% (12 mins). Midlakes-Red Jacket is at Batavia-Notre Dame on Tuesday.    [ BOX SCORE

PENFIELD-14 at CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-5 - Penfield Junior attackman Michael Moxley scored his first Varsity goal while Senior midfielder Adam Schembri (5g-1a), and Senior attackman Ethan Aust (4g-1a) led in scoring.  Facing off for Penfield was Christian Brown with 4+/0- = 100%, and Colin Miller with 11+/7- = 61% and in the goal was Sophomore Mason Schembri with 7s/4ga = 64% (43 mins). Scoring for Churchville-Chili were Senior attackman Colin Duncan (2g), Senior midfielder Cameron Gefell (1g-1a), Sophomore attackman Jaxon Leonard (1g-0a), and Senior attackman Dominic Hoch (1g).    [ BOX SCORE

Walt Whitman at HFLGENEVA-7 at PAL-MAC-8 - It was on overtime win for Pal-Mac as they hosted Geneva in a thriller. Freshman offensiveman Branden Thomas scored his first Varsity goal for the Red Raiders. Leading the scoring for Pal-Mac (2-0) were Keagan Hoesterey (2g-3a), Reid Diehl (1g-1a), 8th grade attackman Max Hill (2g), Freshman Branden Thomas (1g-1a), and sophomore (1g). Scoring for Geneva were Jeremy Askin (3g), Max Heieck (3a who reached his 50th career assist), Ryland Dunham (2g), Cooper Trickler (1g-1a), and freshman attackman Jack Dunham (1g) who scored his first Varsity goal for the Panthers. Both goalies had notable days as Senior goalie Paul Williams (Geneva) reached his 100th save with his 9 saves (103svs) and Senior goalie Peyton Lich (Pal-Mac) reached his 200th save with his 10 saves (207svs).

MYNDERSE-17 at HAVERLING-3 - Seven different players scored goals for Mynderse including Griffin Hilimire (9g-2a), Lucas Stevers (1g-4a), and Jack Brady (3g) who scored his first Varsity goal for the Blue Devils. In the goal for Mynderse was senior Logan Pettingil with 4s/3ga = 57% (48 mins). Scoring for Haverling were Sophomore attackman Zach Colegrove (2g), Junior Gavin Price (1g-1a), and Sophomore midfielder Drew Spears (0g-1a).  Sophomore goalie McLane Stermole (Haverling) reached his 300th save with his 16 saves (300svs). EAST UNITED-EASTRIDGE-15 at GATES CHILI-3 - Nine different players scored goals for East United-Eastridge including Freshman attackman John Hart, Junior attackman Foxx Fulton, and Junior offensiveman Jordan Rodriguez who scored their first Varsity goals. Leading the scoring were Nkodia Ndongala (3g-2a), and Freshman midfielder Jahyden Maiorani (3g-2a). In the goal for East United-Eastridge were Ronald Dietz with 2s/1ga = 67% (24 mins), and Ethan Wright with 4s/2ga = 67% (24 mins).  Sophomore attackman Callaway Phommachanh scored his first Varsity goal for Gates Chili who also saw goals from Michael Alley and Michael Miller.     [ BOX SCORE

BATAVIA-NOTRE DAME-3 at GREECE STORM-16 - Twelve different players scored for the Storm including four players who scored their first Varsity goal: Senior midfielder Dominick Sinopoli, Sophomore attackman Justin Fox, Junior attackman Steven Villegas, and Senior midfielder Quinnten Workman. Senior Jake Patrei (3g-0a) led the team in scoring. Scoring for Batavia-Notre Dame were Junior Gavynn Trippany (1g-1a), and Senior midfielder Quintin Cummings (2g).    [ BOX SCORE

Walt Whitman at HFLMCQUAID JESUIT-8 at PITTSFORD-7 - In a game that was close throughout, Pittsford took the early lead, leading 4-2 at the half, but the Knights came out with four unanswered goals in the third to lead 6-4 after three. The Knights scored two at the top of the last quarter taking an 8-4 lead before the Panthers scored the last three goals including two by Brady Goetz, with his last goal with just over two minutes left in the game. Leading the scoring for McQuaid Jesuit (2-0) were Senior attackman John Harding (1g-1a), Senior attackman Vincenzo Giangreco (1g-1a), and  Senior midfielder Eoin Meyer (2g) who scored his first Varsity goal for the Knights who will take on Aquinas on Saturday.  There was no report from Pittsford at post-time.    [ BOX SCORE
