Canandaigua Over Hilton, McQ Wins GRALL Title

Tuesday: DAY IN REVIEW: With a 13-9 win over Aquinas, McQuaid Jesuit (12-3) won the GRALL Championship tonight. Aquinas took an early lead, but the Knights came back to a 3-3 tie by then end of the first quarter and then never lost the lead. Ryan McEvily led with 4g-1a and Jack Billitier added 3g. Jon Gaglio made 12 saves for McQuaid Jesuit including 7 in the second Quarter. McQuaid Jesuit ends the regular season with a 12-3 record.

Spencerport defeated Brockport 18-8 with Jonathan Agness leading in scoring with 3g-5a. Senior attackman Andrew Romano scored his Varsity goal of his career and finished the game with 2g.

Canandaigua defeated Hilton 5-4 after scoring the game winning goal with 0:54 remaining in the third quarter. The Braves took an early 2-0 lead off scoring from Will York and Mark Belles. Hilton responded with three straight goals to take their first lead. In the third quarter, the scoring exploded with each team adding three goals. The game winning goal was scored by York with a feed from Tyler Goode. Neither team scored in the final 12 minutes of the game.

A strong second quarter, with five goals gave Penn Yan their 7-4 victory at Geneva this afternoon. Six Mustangs made the offensive book and scoring was spread out with Austin Blumbergs turning in 2g-1a and Colt Smith added 3g. Jeff Kinyoun recorded eight saves (67%) for the Mustangs. Sam Miller led the Panthers with 3g-1a while senior goalie Jake Drennen made seven saves (50%).

<p?Also winning games today were Schroeder, Eastridge, Spencerport, Mynderse, Wayne, Midlakes, Greece Storm, Victor and Thomas.
