Tuesday: Aquinas Takes Out Geneva

DAY IN REVIEW: The Class A tournament bracket held as Hilton (#4) defeated Greece Lightning and Penfield (#3) beat Rush-Henrietta (#6). Nine different Cadets made the scorebook, led by Jordan DePetres with 3g-1a. Shawn Doran won 13 of 14 draws for the winners and Jacob VanWuychuyse made six saves (100%). Hilton will take on Pittsford at 5:00 on Friday. In the lower bracket Penfield beat R-H with fifteen players making the offensive book. Joey Barboza (5g-2a) and Dan Taddeo (2g-4a) led the Patriots who will play Fairport at 7:00 on Friday at Webster Thomas.

There were four games in the Class C quarter finals today and one broken bracket when Aquinas (#5) defeated Geneva (#4) in a close game that went right down to the wire. Aquinas control the majority of the game and was leading by a four goal margin before a strong comeback by Geneva to taken them within one goal. In the last two minutes of the game the Panthers had four shots but were unable to tie the game. Aquinas will play HF-L on Friday.

HF-L had two players on the offensive books, led by Jonathan Roth with 4g-3a. Pal-Mac beat Newark, using eight offensive players. Brian Burger recorded 4g-3a and goalie Jared Hurlbutt made 11 saves (92%). The Red Raiders (#2) will play Wayne (#3) at 7:00 on Friday at Penn Yan.
