Friday: Penfield Rallies for Comsewogue Win

DAY IN REVIEW: After five ties, Penfield took off in the last quarter scoring four unanswered goals to take a victory, this afternoon, at Comsewogue (Section XI). Six different players made the offensive book for the Patriots. Leading the pack was Joey Barboza with 3g-3a. Senior midfielder Peter Schwab was the ground ball leader with nine. For the Warriors (3-5), Ryan Dorney was the offensive leader with 2g-1a.

Pal-Mac travelled to Albany and defeated La Salle Institute 14-6 this afternoon. Bryan Burger (4g-4a) led the offensive list of eight. Jared Hurlbutt made nine saves (60%) for the Red Raiders (7-1). The LaSalle Institute Cadets (Section II) are currently 2-5. McQuaid Jesuit finished their trip with a loss to Eden Prairie (4-0). Ryan McEvily (1g-2a) was in on all but one of the Knight offense.

HF-L (8-0) started with an 8-1 first quarter, and after the Eastridge played a nearly even second quarter, went back to work in the second half for the MC-D3 win. Ten Cougars scored points in the game. Leading the pack were Jonathan Rother (4g-4a) and Andrew Mapstone (3g-3a). Garret Ruff led the ground ball effort with seven. Andrew Doktor led the Lancers with 2g-4a.

The two games started yesterday and halted by lightning were finished today. Irondequoit traveled to Aquinas to play that last two minutes of their game, which yesterday, they led 7-5. Irondequoit started with the ball, but Aquinas was able to get control and had some opportunities but were unable to score. Jack Brennan (1g-2a) and Nick Slattery (2g-1a) led in scoring for the Eagles. For Aquinas, Evan Kelly led with 2g-1a.

When the B-H - Livonia game was stopped last night, the Pride led 5-0 with 7:24 left in the third quarter. When the game was restarted today, the Bulldogs scored three of the next four goals, but that was the end of scoring for Livonia.
