Spencerport Over Gates 8-6

NOTES: Spencerport scored the first two goals of the contest and never trailed in their 8-6 win over Gates-Chili. The Rangers couldn`t pull away and the Spartans couldn`t catch up for nearly the entire game. Matt Schumann scored the opening goal unassisted for the Rangers. The first goal for the Spartans was scored by Joseph O`Hare with an assist from Kristian Sarkis with 0:12 remaining in the first quarter.

Spencerport scored the only two goals of the second quarter to increase their lead to 4-1 going into halftime. O`Hare scored his second goal to open the first quarter with Joe Talarico assisting him. Spencerport added another pair to take their largest lead of the game 6-2 going into the final quarter. O`Hare`s third goal started off the fourth quarter. With 6:44 remaining Gates Chili scored the first of two goals during a single non-releasable penalty. Joe Talarico scored two both goals during the penalty with Brett Kirkpatrick assisting on both. The Spartans never got closer than two goals and both teams added goals to finish the game.

In the cage for Gates-Chili, Michael Cavallaro finished with 12 saves (60%). Brett Kirkpatrick finished with seven ground balls to lead his team. Defenseman Alex Saavedra finished with six ground balls and O`Hare finished with four. For Spencerport, Connor MacKenzie finished with 4s/6ga and Karnan Rajkumar finished with 3 saves. Midfielder Andrew Forte finished at seven ground balls to lead the Rangers. Colin McElligott finished with six and Caleb Ramos finished with five.
