- Brighton ended their league season sixth in brightonMonroe County Division II with a 0-10 record (0-16 overall). Seeded seventh in the Class B tournament the Barons lost to Aquinas in the first round and finished as seeded. After the new league divisional orientation, Brighton has moved from Monroe County Division II to Division III. Brighton will join, Spencerport, Brockport, Batavia, East Rochester, and both Greece Arc/Oly and Greece Ath/Ody.

Brighton graduated eight seniors last year, but returns all eight players that were named to the All County team, including 1st team All County Kyle Hohmann in the goal.

Offensively, the Barons will return both their leading goal scorer as well as they leading assister. Attackman Evan Davis led in goals and points with 21g-3a while attackman Mark Henrichs led in assists with 5g-11a. Attackman CJ Wool (4g-1a) returns this season. Wool was the fifth leading scorer last year. First year Head Coach Mike Gottko (previously of Rush-Henrietta) says of Wool, "He is the team quarterback."

Defensively, Hohmann will be the leader. Coach Gottko, "Hohmann is demonstrating a real knack for being a great ball stopper and generates our transition game with his clearing ability." Hohmann returns this year after a 61% season with 276 saves. In front of Hohmann will be sophomore Dan Pierce (HM) and seniors Alex Jordan (2nd) and Jake Silver (HM).

Overall the Barons are looking to have a mix of upper and under classmen on their roster and on the field. Coach Gottko says, "We are working on building chemistry among our upper and under classman. There is a nice mix competing for playing time." The Barons have out of league games against Eastridge, Victor, McQuaid Jesuit and Aquinas. With the new league divisional orientation, Brighton is looking to come back after last year's season, "We are trying to establish ourselves as a team that will work hard for 48 minutes," suggested Coach Gottko.
