Thursday: Blumbergs Overtime Goal Lifts Penn Yan

DAY IN REVIEW: Austin Blumbergs scored an unassisted goal just 0:21 into the second overtime period to give Penn Yan a 7-6 win over Haverling. Blumbergs scored a total of 3g-1a to be a part of four out of seven goals.  The Rams led for the majority of the game, with Penn Yan only leading for 1:39 throughout the entire contest.  Continues

Penfield scored six unanswered goals in the first quarter to secure the lead and never looked back in their 14-12 win over Brighton. The Barons fought to keep the score close, but never re-tied the game after the first quarter. Joey Barboza and Peter Schwab recorded 5g-1a each for the Patriots. Continues

Spencerport scored nine of the first twelve goals on their way to a 14-10 win over Greece Athena/Odyssey. Although the Thunder scored the first goal (Zack Gibaurd unassisted), Spencerport scored the next four. Johnathan Agness scored the opening two on his way to six total goals. Continues

There were thirty-five goals scored as Thomas defeated Churchville-Chili 20-15 in a late game. Although the Titans led pretty much throughout the game, the Saints stayed close. Two big runs (of four in the first quarter and five in the third/fourth) gave Thomas the game. Junior midfielder scored a team high of 9g-1a and Trevor Ford added 3g-2a for Thomas. Churchville-Chili junior attackman Corey Yunker scored 4g-7a and fellow-attackman Jacob Buck scored 7g-1a to lead the Saints.

Other winners today were Eastridge, Pal-Mac, Livonia, Hilton, Waterloo and Pittsford.
