EDITOR'S NOTE: This weekly summary touches on some of the games played in the recent past and highlights some games of interest in the current week. For more in-depth coverage, click on the DAY OF THE WEEK for more coverage for that day, including box scores, articles, and galleries.

There were ten games played last week. There are seventy-six out of section games scheduled and 5 have been played. Section V teams have won 3 and lost 2 (60%). There are seven undefeated teams at this point.

Looking Back

The 2025 season began on Friday with three games and all of them were won by more than three goals. Thomas defeated Wayne 23-9, with freshman Blake Jipson scoring seven goals, while Tas Strickland contributed five for Wayne. Gananda won 20-11 against Gates Chili, led by Jase Smith’s eleven goals and five assists, and Michael Alley who scored six for Gates Chili. Pal-Mac shut out Haverling 22-0 with big offensive numbers by Jackson Dennie (7g-4a), Max Hill (3g-4a), Brandon Thomas (4g-2a) and Reid Diehl (6g).

On Saturday there were seven games played and three were close ones. Marcellus outlasted Hilton 10-9 in a closely fought non-league game. Greece at NewarkMarcellus`s Chris Doshna led all scorers with five goals, while Hilton`s Anthony Mitrano recorded three goals and Gianluca Auriuso added two goals and three assists. McQuaid Jesuit defeated Corning in a tight non-league matchup, 8-7. JP Gianforti led McQuaid with three goals, while goalie Jack Rawleigh posted a 67% save rate. Orchard Park secured a 14-12 win over Penfield in a non-league lacrosse game. Penfield`s Brodie Joyce (2g-3a), Jake Maurer (2g-1a), and AJ Theodorakakos (2g) led the offense for the Patriots. Other winners were Brockport over Batavia-Notre Dame with a shutout, Greece over Newark, and Pal-Mac who won their second game in two days.

Looking Ahead

There are three games scheduled for Monday including McQuaid at St. Francis, Haverling at Aquinas, and Gananda at Livonia-Avon-Geneseo.

Tuesday is is the first big day with eleven games scheduled. Among the interesting ones areR-H at Greece, Ironbdequoit at Brighton and Hilton at Brighton.

Marcus Whitman is at Gananda and Brockport is at B-H on Wednesday. HFL at Livonia

On Thursday there are nine scheduled games.Interesting games include Pittsford is at Penfield, Batavia-ND is Haverling, Irondequoit is a Hilton, andThomas is at Rush-Henrietta.

On Friday, Penn Yan is at Homer, Waterloo is at Mynderse-Romulus and Midlakes is at Jordan Elbridge.

To close out the week Saturday has a dozen games on the schedule. Look for C-C at Pittsford, Wayne at Greece, B-H at Mynderse-Romulus and Canandaigua at Irondequoit,
