Week In Review - Week 7

There were forty-nine games played last week with a few won in overtime. At the moment there are fifty-two out of section games scheduled and forty have been played. Section V teams have won twenty-four and lost nineteen (56%). Victor (13-0) is still the only undefeated team left at this point.

Looking Back

The week started on Monday with four games: McQuaid lost to Canisius, Brighton beat Greece, Aquinas beat Wayne and Hilton defeated Livonia-Avon.

Hilton goalie Jason Mosher and Victor midfielder/fo specialist Sam Ricci were named Players of the Week.

Tuesday was a busy day with more than a dozen games played. Spencerport scored the last four goals in the game to take Canandaigua 9-8. Pittsford won in a low scoring 4-2 game with Thomas. Marcus Whitman won an 11-8 game with Haverling.

On Wednesday Bishop Kearney beat UPrep.

On Thursday  There were some great match ups today and some exciting scores. B-H beat Gananda 9-7, Thomas beat Fairport 10-9, Victor beast CA 7-2, Waterloo won their game with Mynderse 6-4, Penfield dodged a pesky Hilton 10-9, C-C had a 10-9 win over HF-L, R-H was a 13-11 winner over Schroeder and Gates Chili won their game with East United-Eastridge 7-5. 

On Friday Greece beat Gananda, Bishop Kearney had a shutout over Mynderse and Midlakes-Red Jacket beat Batavia-ND.

The week finished on Saturday with a dozen games played and several close ones. Newark beat East United-Eastridge in OT, Brighton beat Geneva by one, HF-L held on for a 5-4 with against the Lakers, and Pittsford had a 5-3 win over Hamburg. 

 

Looking Ahead

Haverling at AQThere are only a couple of weeks left in the regular season and this week there are forty-seven games scheduled.

McQuaid Jesuit plays Bishop Kearney on Monday.

On Tuesday there are fourteen games set including Gananda at Waterloo, Thomas at Rush-Henrietta, Marcus Whitman is at Pal-Mac, Irondequoit at HF-L and Spencerport at Pittsford.

Bishop Kearney plays the Lakers and Wayne is at Mynderse on Wednesday.

On Thursday there are a dozen games scheduled including Waterloo at Newark, Pal-Mac at Penn Yan, Churchville-Chili at Irondequoit, HF-L at Gates, and Fairport at Spencerport.

There are three games on Friday including Kearney at Mynderse.

On Saturday there are another fifteen games scheduled including Clarence at Penn Yan, Corning at Geneva, Wayne at C-C, Aquinas at BK, Victor at FM and Schroeder at Hilton.
