West Genesee secured a 16-6 win over Penfield in the NYS semifinal game at SUNY Cortland today. The Wildcats built an early lead, scoring three goals in the first quarter and seven in the second, while Penfield managed only one first-quarter goal and was held scoreless in the second. West Genesee’s offense was led by Jack Wenham with five goals and one assist, while Jake McMahon contributed four goals and two assists. Additional scorers included Charlie Lockwood with two goals and one assist, Nash Oudemool with two goals, and Jacob Pensabene, Chace Cogan, and Jeffrey Mercer each adding a goal. Goalie Jonathan Shoults recorded seven saves while allowing six goals.
Penfield showed resilience in the second half, scoring four goals in the third quarter and one in the fourth.
