Section Five Championships
Section Five's first sectional tournament was won by Webster (Thomas) in 1975.
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association began a State Tournament in 1977. Section Five entered the tournament in 1978, when Rush-Henrietta was entered in the single class tournament.
In 1986, the State added a second class (B) and in 2000 added a third class (C).
Notes: Corning East was a Section Five team. They elected to join Section IV in the early 1980's. Webster had a single High School when they won in 1995. Rush-Henrietta, briefly had two high schools, when the Roth High School won in 1983. In 2005 Classes B and C were combined into one tournament which was won by Penn Yan. Honeoye Falls-Lima moved on into the Class B State Tournament and Penn Yan moved on into the Class C Tournament.
