Brennan Thomas Lifts the Pride in Closing Seconds

- Bloomfield-Honeoye secured a 12-11 victory over Midlakes in the Section V semifinal on Friday night at Geneva. Midlakes jumped ahead early, scoring five goals in the first quarter, but Bloomfield-Honeoye kept pace, finishing the first half trailing 7-4. Bloomfield-Honeoye surged in the second half, scoring eight goals, including four in the final quarter. BH vs MidThe game was decided in the final moments when eighth-grader Brennan Thomas scored with five seconds remaining, sending Bloomfield-Honeoye to the championship game.

Bloomfield-Honeoye had contributions from multiple players, with John Blair leading the team in assists with four. Tyler Bruder recorded three goals, while Brayden Arber and Caleb Beadnell each added two. Cody Whittaker contributed one goal and three assists. In net, senior Ethan Stoddard made 13 saves on 24 shots, finishing with a 54% save rate over 48 minutes. Whittaker also excelled on faceoffs, winning 16 of 26 attempts. There was no report from Midlakes (14-4) at post-time.
