Players of the Week - Week Four

- Player of the Week

Section V Boys Lacrosse Coordinator Mike Simon in conjunction with the Connors and Ferris law firm are, once again, sponsoring recognition of noteworthy performances throughout the season.

For "Week 4" we have two players who had standout performances last week.

Offensive Player of the Week

Jamie O`NeillJamie O`Neil - Haverling

Jamie O`Neil scored 11g-2a last week in one of the highest scoring games played in the section when Haverling lost 22-21 to Salamanca. Jamie currently leads the section with 34g-48a in five games.

Head Coach Ken DiDomineck says: "Jamie is working hard in his leadership role and on the field. His eleven goals against Salamanca kept us in the game against a very good team from
section VI and his leadership role has been helping the younger players on the team with tips to improve their game."

Defensive Player of the Week

Mike ValentSeamus Hand - Penfield

Seamus Hand had twelve saves (57%) in their 10-9 win over Spencerport last week.

Head Coach John Schembri says, "Seamus is Captain of the team and someone who always comes up with a big save when the team needs a spark.  He is always looking out for younger teammates and is a anchor to our defense.

Coach Jerry Dawes, Penfield`s goalie coach has this to say about Seamus.  "He had a great week coming off an injury, especially against Spencerport. He brings a competitive personality everyday to practice. As well as leadership to the defensive end of the field."
