Greece Storm Young but Hard Working

Greece Storm 2022

Class A - Monroe County League

The Storm lost eight seniors to graduation and with them all of their stat leaders and so, with three sophomores in the starting lineup, it looks like Coach Shane Cole is rebuilding from his 6-8 team last year. Still, he is very optimistic given the chemistry of this year's team.

Greece StormHe says the "Greece Storm Boys Varsity Lacrosse team has a group of hard-working young men. We are going into this season with a blue-collar mentality. Our team knows that success is not given, it is earned. Work hard in silence and let your success make the noise. Every player on our team is up for the challenges that this season will bring us."

Gone are Logan Yates (27g-13a), Brandon Pignato (27g-18) and scrappy midfielder Luke Strong (19g-13a) who led the team in ground balls with fifty-one.

This year the Storm will look to senior A/M Steven Laframboise (8g-2a) and his classmate Antonio Riccardi in defense. Also in defense is sophomore Jake Patrei who picked up a goal and 25 gbs last year. In the cage this year will be sophomore Jonathan Bucciarelli, a 55% saves goalie who made 61 stops as a freshman backup. On the other end of the field, Coach Cole will look to two more sophomores to get ball-time and goals. Aiden Early returns to the attack and Andrew Hill will play both attack and midfield after posting 14g-6a and picking up 30gbs.

Greece is in the Monroe County D1 division and so they will play Fairport, Pittsford, Hilton, and R-H. They have out of division games with Canandaigua, Spencerport, Penfield, Schroeder, Brighton, and Thomas. The rest of their scheduled is also challenging. Coach Cole says he is looking forward to playing R-H, East United/Eastridge, Newark, Livonia-Avon and Gananda.
