Looking Back

Loyola at Victor There were, as expected, a number of exciting games last week. Overtime wins went to Gananda over Geneva, Irondequoit over HF-L and Hilton over Greece.  Penn Yan scored their winning goal in the last quarter as they defeated Westhill (Section 3) 5-4.

Churchville-Chili beat Canandaigua (13-10) but lost to Spencerport (17-4). Webster Thomas held off the late advances of Fairport to defeat the Red Raiders 11-10. Penfield defeated Pittsford (9-6) and Mynderse beat Waterloo (8-7). Yesterday, Marcus Whitman beat Gates Chili, Hilton took Greece (8-7) and Midlakes beat Mynderse (10-9).

Last week the first Players of the Week were honored. Named Connors & Ferris Players of the week were Brett Cunningham (Gananda) and Caleb Green (Brighton).

Looking Ahead

With over fifty games scheduled for this week, there will certainly be some good ones. Among our picks are:

  • Tuesday: Penfield at Thomas, Brighton at Canandaigua and Fairport at Irondequoit.

  • Thursday: Canandaigua at Fairport, Geneva at Pal-Mac, HF-L at Spencerport and Schroeder at Brighton.

  • Friday: Newark at Marcus Whitman.

  • Saturday: An "Out of Section Day" with eleven games being played. We like: Penn Yan at Clarence, Ithaca at Fairport, Canandaigua at Orchard Park and Corning at Victor.

These are just some of the games of interest this week. Of course, if your team is playing it is the game of the week.
