Looking Back

Pittsford at FairportAfter the vacation, the schedules jumped up to 41 games played, after a number were postponed due to continued cold and wet weather. There were a number of exciting games, included McQuaid over Aquinas (10-6) and Penn Yan over Marcellus in double overtime. Brighton won two big games (C-C 13-10 and Hilton 8-7) and Canandaigua beat Pittsford (7-6) who beat Fairport (7-6).

Penfield defeated Hilton (11-10) and Thomas was a 10-5 winner over Canandaigua. Gananda won a good won over Pal-Mac (11-10) and East United won their first Varsity game when they played against Batavia.

It is clear to see that there are many closely matched teams this year and more good games to be played.

Last week the first Players of the Week were honored. Named Connors & Ferris Players of the week were Jack Billitier (McQuaid), Trevor Ford (Thomas), William Fell (Penfield) and Aiden Kenyon (Canandaigua).

Looking Ahead

With over fifty games scheduled for this week, there will certainly be some good ones. Among our picks are:

  • Tuesday: Canandaigua at Churchville-Chili, Fairport at Thomas, Penfield at Schroeder and Brighton at Irondequoit.

  • Thursday: Churchville-Chili at Fairport, Pal-Mac at Newark, Irondequoit at Canandaigua, Pittsford at Penfield and Wayne at Schroeder.

  • Saturday: Irondequoit at HF-L.

These are just some of the games of interest this week. Of course, if your team is playing it is the game of the week.
