Reese Burek scored with 2:38 remaining in the first overtime period to give Fairport the 4-3 win over Webster Schroeder.  The Warriors scored all three of their goals in the opening quarter and led 3-1 after 12 minutes.  Full Story

Colby Barker scored back to back goals to end the game and give Pittsford the comeback 10-9 win over Canandaigua.  The Braves scored the opening three goals and led for nearly the entire game.  Barker scored the tying goal with 8:58 remaining, but took their first lead of the game with 0:14 remaining on the clock.  Barker finished the game with 3g-1a. After a close game last week, Brighton got their first win over the season with an 11-10 victory over Churchville-Chili.  This was the first time that Brighton had defeated Churchville-Chili since their 15-14 victory in April of 2010.   Full Story

Jeremy Hopsicker scored back to back goals to end the game and give Brockport the 10-9 win over Greece Athena/Odyssey in the first overtime period.  Hopsicker scored the game tying goal with 1:01 remaining in regulation before scoring the game winner 1:51 into overtime, both goals were unassisted.  Although, he had three assists earlier in the game, they were his first two goals of the game. April 6, 2017 - Brighton took a four goal lead into the second half on their way to a 10-9 win over Hilton.  The Barons had six players make their offensive scorebook in the win with Brett Randall leading in scoring with 3g-3a.  Hilton was more spread out with ten players in their offensive book. DAY IN REVIEW: It rained throughout the section and as temperatures dropped over the afternoon, four school cancelled their games, but ten did play. DAY IN REVIEW: Mid seventy degrees was a rare treat for the players in the three games played today. Midlakes (5-0) won it's fifth game in a row when they traveled to Bloomfield Honeoye. The Macdonell boys took care of most of the scoring as Ryan posted 7g and Brandon added 3g-3a. Zach Davison recorded 13 saves (59%) for the Eagles. Aquinas took off in the second half and outscored Nichols 8-4 in the second half on their way to a 13-8 win over the Big Green.  In the first three quarters, both teams were back and forth and remained within two goals until the final minute of the third quarter. Full Story

Thomas scored seven of the last eight goals to defeat Fairport 15-10.  The Titans increase their record to 5-1 with the win.  Over the first three quarters the score was never more than 2 goals apart with the game tied seven times.  However, Thomas scored four unanswered goals to start the final quarter and take the largest lead of the game 13-9.  The Red Raiders could not come back and only added a single goal in the fourth. Henry Bush finished with 3g for Gananda in their 12-9 win over Midlakes.  The Blue Panthers scored the first goal and led throughout with only a single tie in the third quarter.  Gananda has defeated Midlakes all 10 times that the teams have face.  This year's 3 goals differential was the closest in history. It was a full day of lacrosse today with fifteen games played by twenty-nine Section Five teams. Irondequoit won a close game with Canandaigua as junior midfielder Kessel Stefano scored with 9.2 seconds left to secure the 12-11 win at home. Full Story

The 10th Annual Jeff Milano-Johnson Memorial Lacrosse Tournament is set for Sunday, June 4th at Rochester Regional Health`s Total Sports Experience. The Jeff Milano-Johnson Memorial Fund / Rochester Kids provides scholarships to kids graduating from the City of Rochester, support for city lacrosse including ROCE6 and a new city-suburban partnership called ROCKidsConnect. The Tournament is both a celebration of Jeff’s love for the game and a fundraiser for these programs. Full Story

Over the past 50 contests, the Victor Blue Devils have never lost.  Victor scored the game winning goal with only 0:50 remaining in the game to defeat Loyola Academy 5-4. Over the last 50 games the Blue Devils have won by an average of 9.7 goals per game; for only the second time the game was decided by a single goal.  The first time was against Pittsford on May 7,2015 and the Blue Devils needed overtime to secure their 14th straight win (HERE). Fifty seconds made the difference and allowed Victor to continue its winning streak to fifty. Connor Kennan scored with an assist from Sam Lambert to give Victor a 5-4 win at home this morning. Although the Blue Devils took an early lead, scoring the first three goals, Loyola Academy returned to tie the game at 4-4 in the third quarter. In their second consecutive match against Section Five teams, Brother Rice defeated Victor 10-9. The Warriors lost to Canandaigua last night 8-7 (HERE).  After a third quarter where the Blue Devils failed to take a single shot, the Warriors fought back from a four goal deficit to tie the game at 7-7.  They continued their scoring into the fourth quarter to lead by two with 2:30 left in the fourth quarter. The longest win streak in Section Five ended today with a one goal loss by Victor to Brother Rice on Michigan. The Warriors scored first and then the game saw a series of runs. Victor put six in a row to lead 6-2 and after exchanging goals, Brother Rice put five together to take an 8-7 lead. Full Story

Six players made the Pride offensive book, Jon Marble scored 2g-2a and Tyler Joslyn added 3g. Goalie Devin Campbell led in the ground ball effort with five and made seven saves (58%). One of the premiere matchups of the regular season will be the Victor at Pittsford game which will be held at Pittsford Sutherland High School at 7:30 PM. Pittsford will be asking for a $2.00 donation in support of the National Wounded Warrior Foundation in the Shootout for Soldiers that will be hosted by Canandaigua this summer.  Full Story

Greece Arcadia/Olympia defeated Brockport 10-7 to increase their record to 2-7.  The Lightning have not won a game since their opener (also against Brockport) when they defeated the Blue Devils 13-12 (HERE).  With the loss, Brockport is also 2-7 on the season. Full Story

April 27, 2017 - Gates Chili scored eight unanswered goals to defeat Spencerport 10-9.  The Spartans were looking for redemption for their season opening overtime loss to Spencerport (HERE).  Tonight, Gates Chili had a 10-5 lead before the Rangers scored the last four goals and attempted to force overtime.  The Rangers played a strong first half and led 5-2 with 4:26 remaining in the second quarter, before Gates Chili scored eight straight. Note: McQuaid Jesuit took over in the fourth quarter and scored five of the last six to defeat Haverling 14-10.  The four goal differential was the largest of the game.  Before the final scoring run by the Knights, the largest difference was a two goal split at 6-4 going into halftime.  The Knights broken their four game losing streak with tonight’s win and increase to 5-4 on the season. Tyler Colton scored the final two goals for Waterloo in their 5-2 win over Newark.  The game was close for the first half before the Indians took off in the second half.  Waterloo held the Reds scoreless for the final 32 minutes, while adding three of their own.  Parker Casselman and Forrest Blondell scored for the Reds.  For Waterloo, Derek Excell (3) and Adam Jenson (4) led in the ground balls count.  George Williams recorded 15 saves (88%) for the Indians. After three back and forth quarters, Gates Chili pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat Rush-Henrietta 9-6.  The Spartans held the Royal Comets scoreless in the final 12 minutes while adding four of their own. Full Story

Jacob Buck tied his school record for most goals in a single game in the 16-15 Churchville-Chili win over Spencerport.  He finished with 8g-1a for the Saints.  Historically this was the 17th consecutive win for Churchville-Chili over Spencerport.  The last win for the Rangers was eleven years ago.  Today’s game was close throughout with the largest lead being a three goal lead late in the game for Churchville-Chili (16-13).  During the contest both teams lead and neither could pull away.  Both teams survived 3 minute non-releasable stick penalties with only 1 goal against for each team. DAY IN REVIEW: McQuaid Jesuits fought back from a 10-6 score at then end of the third quarter and forced a tie ended in overtime when Liverpool earned the win. Jack Billitier led the Knights with 2g-3a. Pal-Mac also used overtime to win their game with Wayne and a game that was close throughout. Victor trailed 2-0 after six minutes before scoring seven of the next eight in their 9-8 win over Fayetteville-Manlius.  FM attempted a late comeback but could not tie the game again after 2-2 to end the first.  The Blue Devils held off in the fourth quarter and did not allow a shot after the final FM goal (5:28 remaining in the fourth quarter). Victor had scoring from six different players, with Zach Estabrooks leading at 3g-1a.  Tucker Hill had a good game at the face-off, finishing 11/16 with a team leading five ground balls. Full Story
