Braves Beat Titans
April 22, 2014 - Canandaigua scored five unanswered goals spanning the end of the second and beginning of the third quarters in their 10-8 win over Webster Thomas. The Titans briefly held the lead in the first quarter, but the Braves tied the game for the last time with 8:58 remaining in the second quarter with the first of their five goals.
The Braves scored the first three goals with two from Brian Feldman and one from Connor Hulme. With 5:17 remaining in the opening quarter Thomas junior attackman, Christian Nairy scored the opening goal with an assist from Pat LeMoine. The Titans scored the next three goals to take the lead to finish the first quarter. Travis Ford, Kevin Hill and LeMoine each scored for Thomas. They led 4-3 going into the second quarter.
Thomas remained scoreless for over 20 minutes from the last goal of the first quarter at 0:42 to their first goal of the third quarter at 4:20. The Titans attempted to shorten the gap in the fourth quarter but did not get closer than two goals. The final two goals of the game were both scored by Kevin Hill (3g-1a total) to bring the Titans from within four to within two goals.
In the cage for Thomas, Davis Bird finished with six recorded saves. Defenseman Ryan Nugent led the Titans with six ground balls. Midfielder Cam Isaac and attackman Travis Ford added three ground balls each. Canandaigua goalie, Luke MacNeil, finished with 12 saves.
