Gananda Takes Pal-Mac 10-9

- Pal-Mac scored three goals to tie the game with 1:13 remaining before Colin Brillian scored with 0:32 remaining to give Gananda the 10-9 win and hold off the late advance by the Red Raiders. Nearly half of the scoring from both teams came in the fourth quarter with Pal-Mac scoring five and Gananda scoring four. The game was close throughout with neither team leading by more than two in the first three quarters.

Pal-Mac was led in scoring by Ben Reeves who finished with six out of ten of the Red Raider goals (plus one assist). Reeves scored the opening two goals of the contest with the latter being assisted by Tyler Williams. The Red Raiders finished out the first quarter holding Gananda scoreless and led 2-0.

Gananda scored the opening goal of the second quarter with Zach Binggeli scoring his unassisted tally. Four minutes later AJ Hems scored for Pal-Mac to keep the Red Raiders ahead by two goals. Gananda scored the next three goals to take their first lead of the contest. Joe Fisher, Kyle Lombardozzi and Binggeli each added a single goal for the Panthers. Jarrett Duchesneau scored the final goals of the half at 2:37 for Pal-Mac to tie the game at 4-4 going into halftime.

The third quarter belonged to the Blue Panthers. As the opposite of the opening quarter, Gananda scored two goals and held Pal-Mac scoreless for the quarter. Binggeli and Fisher scored with both goals assisted by Nick Rapp. The Panthers led by two (6-4) going into the final quarter. Reeves opened the quarter to bring the game within one and Duchesneau scored three minutes later to tie the game with 8:22 remaining.

Gananda took control of the game by scoring the next three goals in a two and a half minute span. Cruz Mayberry, Fisher and long-stick Dylan Joy scored for the Blue Panthers. Joy scored (unassisted) with 5:20 remaining in the final quarter. Reeves scored the next three goals, all unassisted to tie the game with 1:13 remaining. Brillian took the game home and the Panthers won the final face off on a technical and held the ball until time expired.

In the cage for Gananda, Ben Schumacher finished with eight recorded saves. Joy finished with 10 ground balls and 3 takes to lead his team in both categories. Blue Panther midfielder Remmy Glod finished at 91% for the face-off draw and had six ground balls. For the Red Raiders, goalie Jack DeMeyers finished at 50% with 10 saves.
