Gates Chili Takes Brockport 10-7

- In a back and forth game, Gates-Chili scored five unanswered goals to start the fourth quarter and secure their 10-7 win over Brockport. The Spartans had a strong opening and closing to the contest with the Blue Devils playing strong in in the middle quarters. The game finished with eighteen penalties and five goals scored during man-up.

GC scored four of the first five goals with Nicholas Ehmann, Brett Jacobs (2) and Brett Kirkpatrick scoring. Quinton Caleb scored the opening goal for Brockport. The Spartans led 4-1 with 11:32 remaining in the second quarter. They did not score again for 26:34 until the fourth quarter stretch. Brockport scored four straight goals with two goals from Tyler Stiefel and one from Caleb and Austin Myers.

The Spartans had eight players make the scorebook with no player adding more than three points. Ehmann and Jacobs both finished at 2g-1a. In the cage, Michael Cavallaro finished with nine recorded saves (56%). Kirkpatrick finished at 56% at the face off draw with a team leading 11 ground balls. Midfielder Richard Cato finished with four ground balls and another 4 takes.
Brockport finished with three players in the scorebook: Caleb (3g), Stiefel (2g-1a) and Myers (2g). In the cage, Elijah Ryan recorded 11 saves (52%). Ryan also finished with 12 ground balls for the Blue Devils. Midfielders Jake Sweet (7) and Myers (6) also added to the ground balls count.
