Brockport Takes Lightning By One

- Greece Arcadia/Olympia and Brockport had a tough back and forth game with Brockport coming out on top 7-6. The Blue Devils won for the first time since 2012. The Lightning came out in the opening quarter with the first two goals of the contest. Brockport responded with four unanswered goals from Quinton Caleb, Austin Myers and Austin Manchester (2). They led 4-2 with 5:25 left in the second quarter. The Lightning didn't give up and tied the score again in less than three minutes with goals from Joseph Tortora and Matt McHale. Brockport scored the final goal of the second quarter to hold a 5-4 lead going into halftime.

Each team added a single goal in each of the final two quarters. McHale scored his third to start of the quarter (3:18 remaining). Manchester scored his third as time expired in the quarter (0:02). The fourth quarter was slow getting started with both goals coming in the final thirty seconds. Manchester scored to put the Blue Devils up by two with 0:29 remaining. Tyler Dalle scored the final goal with 0:16 left, but the Lightning could not tie the game and force overtime.
In the cage for Brockport, back-up goalie Alex Mann finished with 12 saves (63%) and was a key factor in the win.
