Tournaments: Around the State

May 25, 2015 - Around the State Section 6 - Championships will be on Tuesday, May 26th at Grand Island. In Class A Clarence (#1) lost to Orchard Park (#2). In Class B Hamburg(#1) defeated Niagara Wheatfield (#2) and in Class C Akron (#1) beat Silver Creek (#3). The winners will play the Section Five Champions at St. John Fisher College on Saturday, May 30th. (Brackets)

Section 3 - Championships are to be held at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse on Wednesday, May 27th. In Class A is is West Genesee (#1) vs Auburn (#2). In Class B Jamesville-DeWitt (#1) will play Carthage (#3) and in Class C Cazenovia (#1) will take on Westhill (#2). The winners will play the winners of the Section 4 vs Section 10 out bracket on May 30th. (Brackets)

Section 4 - Corning defeated Ithaca in the Class A tournament. Vestal was a 12-10 winner over Horseheads in the Class B championship and Chenango Forks (34) defeated Seton CC (#3) for the Class C Championship. Corning automatically advances to the quarter finals. Vestal will play Canton from section 10 on Wednesday and the winner will play JD. Chenango Forks will play Salmon River (Section 10) on Wednesday and the winner will play Cazenovia.

Section 10 There are no Class A teams playing in the NYS tournament. The Class B and C teams played in one tournament and Salmon River (Class C) won the Championship. The runner up was Canton, which is a Class C team, but they will "play up" in the Class B tournament. There is only on Class B team (Massena) and Canton defeated them (19-8) in the semi finals. And Farther east and south

In Section 8 (Long Island - Nassau) - Champions will be crowned on Tuesday, May 26th. Massapequa (#1) lost toSyosset (#2) in Class A. Manhasset defeated Lynbrook in Class B and Cold Spring Harbor beat Mineola in Class C. (Brackets A - B - C).

In Section 11 - Champions will be determined on Wednesday. In Class A Ward Melville (#1) will play Smithtown East (#2). In Class B Sayville (#5) will play Mount Sinai (#3) and Babylon (#1) will play Mattituck-Greenport in Class C. (Brackets)

NYS Bracket

Section 1 - Champions were Mamaroneck (Class A),Yorktown (B) and Pleasantville(C). Mamaroneck beat Mahopac 12-11, Yorktown beat John Jay-Cross River 11-9 and Pleasantville defeated Bronxville 9-7.

Winners will play the winner of Section 2 vs Section 9 games on May 27th.

Section 2 - Champions were Niskayuna (A), Albany Academy(B) and Greenwich (C).

Nisky beat Shaker 1308. Albany defeated Burnt Hills 8-7 and Greenwich beat Glens Falls 10-9 in overtime.

Winners will play the winners in Section 9 and then will play Section I winners.

Section 9 - Champions were Warwick Valley (A), Highland(B) and Roundout Valley (C). Warwick defeated Valley Central 13-7, Highland beat Cornwall central 11-6 and Roundout beat Red Hook 12-9. Warwick will play Niskayuna, Highland will play Albany Academy and Roundout Valley will play Greenwich Central in the next round.
