Penn Yan To Face Forks For Championship

Penn Yan earned a 17-10 win against Ogdensburg Free Academy in their NYS semifinal matchup at SUNY Cortland on Wednesday. The game was competitive through the first three quarters, with Penn Yan leading 10-9 entering the final period. PY vs OdgenThe Mustangs pulled away in the fourth, scoring seven goals to Ogdensburg Free Academy’s one. Senior midfielder Teagan Fingar played a key role with five goals and three assists, reaching his 150th career assist. Tukker Fisher contributed four goals and four assists, while Miles Ditzell added four goals. Freshman midfielder Greyson Hathway led in faceoffs with 24 wins and six losses.

Senior goaltender Will Thompson was solid in net for Penn Yan, making 13 saves with a 57% save percentage. Braden Fingar recorded one goal and one assist, while Greyson Hathway tallied two goals. John Holly and Mike Gigliotti also contributed offensively with one goal and one assist, respectively. Ogdensburg Free Academy’s individual stats were unavailable, but the team finished with 10 goals, with a strong effort through three quarters before Penn Yan’s late offensive push.
