Victor Advances to Finals with 12-7 Win

- After a back and forth first quarter, second seeded Victor defeated third seeded Pittsford 12-7. The Blue Devils pulled away with five unanswered goals to start the second quarter and never looked back. Leading in scoring for Victor was sophomore attackman Matthew Herendeen with 3g-3a. Kyle Seger added another 3g-1a with sophomore Jackson Mead and senior Brody Secker each adding 1g-2a each.Victor vs Pitts For Pittsford, the scoring was spread out with only Lewis Grant (1g-1a) finishing with over one point. 

The first half was back and forth scoring with the score tied for the first four points. Victor got on the board just over a minute into play with Herendeen’s first goal, he scored on fast break goal with an assist from long stick Simon Kowal. The Panther’s responded with an extra-man offense goal by Avery Valenti (assisted by Charlie Ryan). For the second pair of goals, Victor’s Secker scored with an outside shot from the top and Pittsford’s Jahyden Maiorani scored with a fast-break goal (unassisted). Vic vs Pitts

The next pair had Colin Wheeler scoring from the crease off a pass from Mead. Pittsford’s goal was an unassisted drive down the middle with a high bounce by Jack Healy. With 0:23 left on the clock Pittsford took their first, and only, lead of the game. The Panther’s scored another fast-break goal with Grant feeding Charlie Ryan after multiple quick passes. The Blue Devils didn’t leave them ahead for long, scoring only 12 seconds later with Secker feeding Seager with 0:11 on the clock. Victor vs PittsThe first quarter ended with the score 4-4. 

In the second quarter, the Blue Devils took off adding three more goals while holding the Panthers scoreless. Will Johnson, Seager and Herendeen each added a goal. The Blue Devils led 7-4 going into the half. The third quarter continued with Victor’s pressure adding two more goals before Pittsford got back on the board. In total, the Blue Devil defense kept the Panthers off the scoreboard for twenty-three minutes. Johnson scored his second to start off the third quarter with a fast-break goal assisted by Herendeen. Herendeen then turned around for a goal of his own with an inside feed by Secker. Pittsford’s Brady Goetz got his team back on the board with a drive from behind the cage. The fourth quarter was more similar to the first with scoring by both sides. Victor added a fast-break goal 0:09 into the quarter with Oliver Kowal scoring unassisted. Lewis added his goal for the Panthers with a dodge along the left goal line. Saeger and Mead rounded out the scoring for the Blue Devils with an extra-man goal and an inside feed from Herendeen. The final goal of the game was for the Panthers with Cole Goetz scoring unassisted with a drive from the right flank.
