
Penn Yan Advances with Strong Team Effort
May 27, 2025 - Penn Yan secured a 19-2 victory over Haverling in the Section V Quarter Final today. The team built a commanding lead early, scoring twelve goals in the first quarter, followed by five in the second. Seven different players contributed to the offense, with Teagan Fingar leading the way with five goals and two assists. Colt Walters added four goals, while Braden Fingar had three goals and one assist. Tukker Fisher recorded two goals and three assists, and Ryder Sprague tallied one goal and one assist.
Penn Yan's defense held Haverling to just two goals, with goaltender Jaxon Jensen making three saves without allowing a goal in eighteen minutes of play. Will Thompson contributed four saves while allowing two goals over thirty minutes, maintaining a 67% save rate. For Haverling, Zach Colegrove and Gavin Price each scored one goal, while Noah Schneider added an assist. Goalie McLane Stermole made 22 saves and recorded a 54% save rate over the full 48-minute contest.
