Mynderse-Romulus Holds Off BK

- Mynderse-Romulus secured a narrow 15-14 victory over Bishop Kearney in the Section 5 Quarter Final on Tuesday night. The home team started strong with a 4-2 lead in the first quarter but faced a challenge as Bishop Kearney responded with a six-goal second quarter. Mynderse-Romulus regained control with a six-goal third quarter before Bishop Kearney’s late push in the fourth came up just short. Junior attackman Griffin Hilimire led the charge for Mynderse-Romulus, scoring 10 goals and reaching his 200th career goal, while Jack Brady added two goals and three assists. Bishop Kearney’s attack was paced by James Scantleburry with five goals and four assists, alongside Dom D’Eletto, who tallied three goals and three assists.

Bishop Kearney’s freshman goalie Ethan Cole recorded 17 saves, reaching his 100th career save while maintaining a 53% save rate. On face-offs, Trever Jensen was strong with 25 wins against six losses, giving Bishop Kearney extra possession throughout the game. Sophomore midfielder Xander Rowley also made an impact, scoring his first varsity goal.
