
Penn Yan Secures Victory
May 20, 2025 - Penn Yan controlled the game early, scoring ten goals in the first quarter and nine more in the second to defeat Churchville-Chili 19-3 in a non-league matchup. Leading the offense, Miles Ditzell and Tukker Fisher each scored four goals, with Fisher adding two assists. Teagan Fingar contributed four goals and three assists, while Braden Fingar recorded three goals and three assists. Churchville-Chili’s scoring came from Brayden Hoak, Jaxon Leonard, and Matthew Mitchell, with Leonard also adding an assist.
Penn Yan’s goaltending was solid, with sophomore Jaxon Jensen making two saves on three shots for a 67% save rate in 24 minutes, while senior Will Thompson stopped six of eight shots for a 75% save percentage in his 24 minutes. Freshman faceoff specialist Greyson Hathway won 18 of his 22 faceoffs, while sophomore Ti’Jai Moorer won all four of his attempts. Eight different players contributed goals for Penn Yan, extending their winning streak to seven games.
