Churchville-Chili Secures Win

- Churchville-Chili edged Livonia-Avon-Geneseo 10-8 in a back-and-forth non-league matchup at Fairbanks Elementary tonbight. Both teams fought hard throughout, with Churchville-Chili holding a narrow 2-1 lead after the first quarter before entering halftime tied at 6-6. In the second half, the teams traded goals, but Churchville-Chili pulled away late with two fourth-quarter scores to secure the victory.

Leading the way for Churchville-Chili was William Morgan, who netted four goals and added one assist. Jaxon Leonard contributed two goals and two assists, while Brayden Hoak found the net twice. Other contributors included Matthew Mitchell and Jack Sloan with a goal and an assist each. Junior goalie Dominic Marra was solid in net, making 14 saves with a 64% save percentage over 48 minutes. Livonia-Avon-Geneseo saw a strong effort from Max McEnerney, who recorded four goals and one assist, while Rider VanZandt added three goals. Henry Walters also chipped in a goal. In net, senior Colton Rose reached his 500th career save milestone, stopping 21 shots with a 68% save percentage.

Churchville-Chili improved to a 6-8 record and will next face Penn Yan on May 20, while Livonia-Avon-Geneseo, now 5-10, will look to bounce back against Marcus Whitman on May 21st.    [ Story and BOX SCORE
