Brockport Holds Off Gates Chili

May 14, 2025 - Brockport secured a 12-9 win over Gates Chili in their MC-D3 league game on Wednesday evening. Brockport took an early lead, scoring three goals in the first quarter and adding two more in the second before Gates Chili responded. Ryan Miller led the scoring for Brockport with five goals and one assist, while Mason Schram contributed four goals and two assists. Dylan Ryan and Tyler Houseman also added to the tally, with Wyatt Pentz and Matt Durnell assisting. Freshman goalkeeper James Newton recorded 20 saves and allowed nine goals, finishing with a 69% save percentage.

Gates Chili kept the game competitive, scoring three goals in the third quarter and another three in the fourth. Callaway Phommachanh led the team with three goals and one assist, while Jayden Maryjanowski matched that with one goal and three assists. Joshua Yakowitz added three goals, and Michael Alley contributed two. In goal, junior Gianni Salandy registered 18 saves with a 60% save percentage. Alley also won all 17 of his faceoffs, while freshman Colin Mancuso won four of six.

Brockport, now holding a 6-8 record, will host Spencerport next Wednesday. Gates Chili, standing at 4-8, will head to Bloomfield-Honeoye on Monday.    [ Story and BOX SCORE]
