Gates Chili Over Blue Devils

May 9, 2025 - Gates Chili secured a win over Batavia-Notre Dame in a non-league matchup at VanDetta Stadium, finishing with a score of twelve to three. Gates Chili built an early lead with four goals in the first quarter and extended it with seven in the second. Batavia-Notre Dame managed a goal in each of the first, second, and fourth quarters but was unable to narrow the gap in the second half.

Leading the offense for Gates Chili were Chandler Vogel and Jayden Maryjanowski, each scoring three goals, while Joshua Yakowitz contributed two goals and two assists. Michael Alley added one goal and four assists, and Gianni Salandy, Asah Frost, and Zach Fennell each recorded a goal. It was Frost's first Varsity Goal. For Batavia-Notre Dame, Jon Smith, Harold Mellander, and Nolan Radley each put one in the net, while Trey Rodriguez provided an assist.

In goal for Gates Chili, sophomore Demar Williams recorded seven saves with three goals allowed, finishing with a seventy percent save rate over forty-eight minutes. Batavia-Notre Dame had senior Leo Gray for the first twenty-two minutes with one save and no goals allowed, while James Rachow played twenty-six minutes and tallied six saves on twelve shots.
