Penn Yan Beats HFL

- Penn Yan secured a 12-6 victory over HFL in a non-league lacrosse matchup on Thursday. Both teams started strong, finishing the first quarter tied at three, but Penn Yan took control in the second, scoring six unanswered goals. HFL managed to add three goals in the fourth quarter but couldn’t close the gap. Leading the offense for Penn Yan was Teagan Fingar with four goals and two assists, followed by Miles Ditzell with three goals and one assist. Braden Fingar contributed two goals and two assists, while Tukker Fisher and John Holly each added goals. Will Thompson anchored the defense with nine saves and a 60% save rate.

HFL's offense was led by Grady Goodberlet, who posted one goal and three assists. Quinn Kailbourne recorded two goals and one assist, while Jackson Coon had one goal and one assist. Cash Arena and Marco Vengoechea each scored once for HFL. In goal, Jason Bennett made 27 saves, finishing with a 69% save rate. Faceoff specialist Greyson Hathway played a key role for Penn Yan, winning 16 of 20 faceoffs. With this win, Penn Yan improved to an 11-1 record, while HFL moved to 9-3.
