Aquinas Over Akron

- Aquinas hosted Akron in a non-league contest, earning an 11-4 victory. The game started with Aquinas taking control early, leading 4-1 after the first quarter. Akron battled back in the second, tying the game at 4-4 before halftime. However, Aquinas responded in the third, scoring five unanswered goals to regain the lead, adding two more in the fourth to close the game. Leading scorers for Aquinas were Jake Guggino with four goals and Noah Olbrich with three goals and one assist. Akron’s offense was led by Thunder Hallett and Ace Abrams, both contributing two goals and one assist.

Senior attackman Olbrich achieved his 100th career assist in the game. Other Aquinas goal scorers included Tano Auriuso, Sam Agostinelli, Dom Siesto, and Jack Bell, with Caleb Wood and Gio Valerie adding assists. Siesto controlled faceoffs, winning 14 out of 19. In net, junior goalie Jake Gibson recorded eight saves on 12 shots, finishing with a 67% save rate. Akron saw assists from Nicholas Fry and Charles Rebmann III but did not score in the second half.
