Spencerport Over Rush-Henrietta

- Spencerport triumphed over Rush-Henrietta 15-8 in a non-league game on Friday. Senior Zach Tortora led the charge for Spencerport, scoring five goals and contributing one assist. Jayden Mandarano added four goals and six assists, while Zachary Ajavananda tallied three goals and four assists. Spencerport’s goaltender, Jamison Brown, recorded eight saves on eight goals for a 50% save rate. Spencerport improved their record to 3-1.

Rush-Henrietta, now 3-2 on the season, fought back with three goals in both the second and fourth quarters but could not close the gap after a strong opening from Spencerport.

Leading the faceoff battle, senior Chase D’Amico of Spencerport notched his 200th career faceoff win with an impressive 18 wins and three losses (86% win rate). Eighth-grader Luke Kaye also contributed by recording his first faceoff win, going three wins against two losses.

This victory marks Spencerport’s fifth consecutive win against Rush-Henrietta dating back to 2011. Spencerport will host Canandaigua next on Tuesday, April 22, while Rush-Henrietta will visit Horseheads on Tuesday.   [ Story and BOX SCORE
