Gates Chili Prevails in Non-League Match

- In a non-league game hosted by Gates Chili today, the Spartans emerged victorious against Batavia-Notre Dame with a final score of fifteen to seven. Leading the charge for Gates Chili was Michael Alley, contributing five goals and four assists. Jayden Maryjanowski supported the offense with two goals and three assists, while Chandler Vogel and Callaway Phommachanh each tallied two goals and one assist. Freshman Zach Fennell and senior Bennett Miley each scored their first Varsity goals. Sophomore goalie Demar Williams posted a strong performance with fifteen saves and seven goals allowed over forty-eight minutes for a save percentage of sixty-eight.

Batavia-Notre Dame opened the game with early momentum, taking a three-to-two lead by the end of the first quarter. Harold Mellander led their scoring efforts with three goals, while Jon Smith added two goals and Trey Rodriguez and Gavynn Trippany contributed one goal each. Jeremiah Childs assisted twice, highlighting Batavia-Notre Dame's teamwork. Their goalies Leo Gray and Branden Flanagan made a combined eight saves, facing a challenging offensive push from Gates Chili throughout the match.

The Spartans surged ahead in the second quarter, scoring eight unanswered goals and maintaining their lead for the remainder of the game. Gates Chili improved their record to two wins and two losses and will face Churchville-Chili in their next game.
