McQuaid Jesuit Defeats Canisius

April 5, 2025 - McQuaid Jesuit showcased their depth with an 18-7 victory over Canisius in a non-league lacrosse game on Saturday, April 5th. Junior Talin Parks led McQuaid`s offense with four goals and two assists, while AJ Quagrello added three goals and two assists. Eleven different players scored for McQuaid, including first varsity goals from juniors Aidan O`Brien, Joe DiMarco, and Charlie Meyer, as well as senior Sammy Maaraba. Senior goalie Jack Rawleigh anchored the defense with seven saves on 10 shots for a 70% save rate during 36 minutes in the cage.

Canisius found the net seven times, with freshman attackman Wyatt Van Tine and junior attackman Braxton Kilgour contributing goals and assists. Despite their effort, the team struggled to break through McQuaid`s defense, particularly during a critical eight-goal streak by McQuaid. Junior Domenic Giangreco excelled in face-offs for McQuaid, winning 16 of 20 for an 80% success rate, while junior Hudson Proia added a 75% face-off win rate with six wins out of eight.

The victory keeps McQuaid Jesuit undefeated with a 3-0 record. Their next game is scheduled for Monday at Orchard Park.     [ Story and BOX SCORE]
