Friday Games Deliver Thrills and Big Victories

- DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - Out of Friday`s four games, these standouts captivated attention: Marcus Whitman's 16-7 victory over Gananda showcased Tariku Blueye's commanding seven goals and six assists, aided by Ayden Clark`s six goals.PY at Homer Penn Yan triumphed over Homer 11-10 in a thrilling triple-overtime match, with Teagan Fingar netting six goals and a crucial assist. Mynderse-Romulus secured a decisive 14-5 win against Waterloo, powered by Griffin Hilimire`s six goals and four assists. Lastly, Midlakes claimed their season opener with a 14-7 victory against Jordan Elbridge, where goalie Stuart Quku`s 12 saves contributed to their success.  

MARCUS WHITMAN-16 at GANANDA-7 - Marcus Whitman secured a strong 16-7 win over Gananda in their league opener. Standout performances included Tariku Blueye with seven goals and six assists, Ayden Clark`s six goals, and solid goalkeeping from Tyler Speers (59% save rate). Gananda`s Jase Smith hit his 50th career goal amidst his team's efforts, but they couldn`t match Marcus Whitman`s offensive power.     [ Story and BOX SCORE

PENN YAN-10 at HOMER-11- Penn Yan edged Homer 11-10 in a non-league contest that extended into triple overtime. PY at HomerTeagan Fingar led Penn Yan with six goals and one assist, while Brycen Poole and Cooper Swartz each recorded four goals and one assist for Homer. Penn Yan goalie Will Thompson posted an 18-save, 64% performance, and freshman Greyson Hathway won 11 faceoffs. WATERLOO-5 at MYNDERSE-ROMULUS-14 - Mynderse-Romulus earned their first win of the season, defeating Waterloo 14-5 in Friday’s FL-D1 league game. Griffin Hilimire’s six goals and four assists led the team`s efforts, supported by Jack Brady (three goals, two assists) and Anthony Luffman (two goals). First Varsity goals by Jerimiah Fils and Gabe Slentz were highlights. Waterloo`s performance remained unreported.
