Fairport Rolls to Victory in Season Opener

- The Fairport Red Raiders opened their season with a commanding 21-1 non-league win over East United-Eastridge on Tuesday night at home. Fairport showcased a balanced offense, with fourteen different players finding the back of the net. Junior Mitchell Monte led the scoring with three goals and two assists, while senior Makhi Farrier added one goal and three assists. Other standout contributors included Rob Protz and Ben White, each tallying two goals. For East United-Eastridge, no scoring report was available at post-time.

Fairport's goaltenders were solid in net, with Luke Ryan making three saves on four shots for a 75% save percentage, and Luke Temple stopping the only shot he faced in relief for a perfect 100% save rate. On faceoffs, juniors Corey Roeser and Ryan Knapp were highly effective, each winning ten out of thirteen for a 77% success rate. First varsity goals were scored by several Red Raiders, including Jack Gosiewski, Tommy Walton, Aiden Randall, and Cameron Duffy, adding to the team's depth.

With this victory, Fairport improved to 1-0 and will host Victor on Thursday. East United-Eastridge, now 0-1, looks to regroup as they visit HFL the same evening.
