Hilton Edges Out Penfield in League Clash

April 1, 2025 - Hilton secured an 8-6 victory over Penfield in a tightly contested MC-D1 league game on April 1st. The scoring began in the first quarter with goals exchanged evenly, but Hilton surged ahead in the second quarter with five goals, including two from standout player Tyler Reger and contributions by Anthony Mitrano, Nicholas Presutti, and Braydon Pike. Penfield fought back with goals from AJ Theodorakakos and Jake Maurer in the latter half, but Hilton`s defense, led by goalie Brendan Maxwell (60% save rate, 9 saves), held firm. Maxwell matched Penfield`s Mason Schembri, who also recorded a 60% save rate with 12 saves. and posted his 300th save in the game.

For Hilton, Tyler Reger led with five goals, supported by assists from Drew Brien and Gianluca Auriuso. Penfield's Brodie Joyce contributed one goal and two assists, while AJ Theodorakakos and Jake Maurer each scored two goals. Despite Penfield's efforts, Hilton leveraged its dominance in face-offs and ground balls to maintain control throughout the game. The game was Head Coach Tim Byrnes 25th game at Hilton.   Penfield will look for redemption against Pittsford, while Hilton prepares to face Irondequoit later this week.
