Irondequoit Edges Brighton in OT Thriller

- Irondequoit opened their season with a narrow 8-7 overtime victory over Brighton in the MC-D2 league game. After a tight contest marked by fluctuating leads, junior offensiveman Colin Giudice sealed the win with an overtime goal assisted by Dylan Carey, leaving Brighton stunned with just under two minutes remaining in extra play. The quarter breakdown showcased the closeness of the matchup: Brighton led early in the game but faltered during the fourth quarter as Irondequoit surged to equalize and force overtime.

Key contributions for Irondequoit included Cooper Moore, who scored three goals, alongside Hank Velepec and Colin Giudice, each netting two. Dylan Carey played a pivotal role, tallying three assists, while senior goalie Sven Habitzreuther was strong in goal, recording fifteen saves for a 68% save rate.
