Geneva Edges Lakers in Close Contest

- Geneva secured an 8-7 victory over Livonia-Avon-Geneseo in a league matchup that remained close throughout. Geneva took an early lead in the first quarter, scoring four goals to Livonia-Avon-Geneseo`s one. The teams traded a goal each in the second quarter before the Lakers surged back with four goals in the third. Geneva answered with two, keeping their lead intact before both teams added a final goal in the fourth quarter.

Leading Geneva's offense, Max Heieck recorded three goals and one assist, while Ben Budgar contributed two goals. Jack Dunham added one goal and two assists, and both Dominick Vedora and sophomore midfielder Liam Kivimaki scored once, marking Kivimaki’s first varsity goal. Geneva`s goalie, Brent Williams, finished the game with eight saves and a 53% save percentage. Livonia-Avon-Geneseo`s Henry Walters led his team with three goals, while Nikolai Hanna scored twice. Max McEnerney posted one goal and three assists, and Will Schweitzer added one goal and two assists. Goalie Colton Rose made 16 saves with a 67% save percentage.

The game remained competitive across all four quarters, showing strong performances from both teams. Livonia-Avon-Geneseo will host HFL on Saturday, April 5, while Geneva will travel to Schroeder on Thursday, April 3
