Brighton Boys Lacrosse ended the 2024 season with a 9-8 record. Head Coach Josh Laskowski, in his second year, plans to build on last season's progress with a strong group of returning players.

2024 Season Recap

Last season, Brighton achieved six decisive wins and faced ten close matches, four of which they lost by a single goal. They scored 156 goals, averaging 9.2 goals per game, while allowing an average of 6.5 goals per game. They finished the season with a close 6-7 loss to Spencerport in the quarterfinals.

Key Losses

Eight seniors, including standout players like Thomas D`Angelo (goalie-Union), Kieran Hughes (LSM-Hamilton), and Aksel Stanat (attack- Geneseo), graduated. These players made significant contributions, with D`Angelo earning All-League Honorable Mention and Stanat being named to the All-League 2nd Team Attack.Brighton

Returning Talent

Brighton has a solid core of returning players, including several award recipients. Miles McGuire (Attack-St. Michael) scored 28 goals and made 14 assists, earning All-League 2nd Team Attack. Gavin Parks (Midfield) contributed 16 goals and 15 assists, securing a spot in the All-League 2nd Team Midfield. A.J. Rossignol received Honorable Mention Defense. Trevor Serve (Vassar) was also recognized with Honorable Mention Defense. Tim Tourangeau scored 26 goals and 17 assists, earning Honorable Mention Midfield, and Henry Werzinger achieved Honorable Mention FO Midfield.

Key Games

Last season saw Brighton win against teams like Gates Chili and Greece Storm, but they also faced tough losses, including a close 7-9 defeat to Penfield. BrightonThis year key games include their season opener with Irondequoit as well as Thomas and Spencerport.

Outlook for 2025

With 14 expected rising seniors and several talented juniors and sophomores, Brighton looks to leverage their returning firepower. Improving close-game performance and relying on their experienced roster will be key to a successful postseason run.

Coach Laskowski's second season will focus on team cohesion and maximizing the potential of Brighton Boys Lacrosse. He says, "This is an experienced team that brings back seven of ten starters and a number of young talented players that are eager to leave their mark. We just need a way to finish those close games."

The upcoming season holds promise, and the team is ready to compete at a high level in Class B.
