Players of the Week - Group 2

- Player of the Week

Section V Boys Lacrosse Coordinator Mike Simon in conjunction with the Connors and Ferris law firm are, once again, sponsoring recognition of noteworthy performances throughout the season.

For "Group 2" we have three players who had standout performances in since the last set of awards.

Defensive Player of the Week

Logan CallahanLogan Callahan - Victor

Victor has won all five of their games to date. Logan Callahan and much of their ball-time is the result of face off specialist Logan Callahan who has won 94/105 (90%) of his draws this season. The Johns Hopkins bound senior went 14/18 in their closest game (10-6 vs Fairport). He has 3g-5a and 69 gbs to date and is on the watchlist to play in the Under Amour All-America lacrosse tournament this summer.

Victor Head Coach Dan Stone says, "His ability to control possession has been pivotal in our team's success this season."

Defensive Player of the Week

Jack FaiolaJack Faiola - Canandaigua

Canandaigua sophomore goalie Jack Faiola is a 77% goalie for Canandaigua, currently undefeated (7-0). Among his standout performances this year is a shutout against Pittsford (36 mins), and 83% day against Ithaca (10s/2ga) and a 70% day against Penfield (7g/3ga).

Canandaigua Head Coach Deven York has lots to say about his player. "I am impressed with the maturity of Jack between the pipes as a sophomore. He is very consistent and comes up with huge saves when we need them. He is an incredible teammate with strong leadership skills and works year round at his craft. He volunteers a lot of hours with our youth as well, true program guy! He sports an excellent mullet and goes by the nickname of “Meat”, gotta love that in your goaltender."

Offensive Player of the Week

Jamie O`NeilJamie O`Neil - Haverling

Topping the section points list is Jamie O`Neil who has helped the Rams to a 4-3 winning record while scoring 29g-35a in seven games.

Haverling Head Coach Ken DiDomineck says: "Jamie is a hard worker in and out of season. He elevates the performance of his teammates by his performance on the field. He is a captain of our team who thinks about the team first."
