Travis Ford Commits to Fairfield
February 11, 2014 - Fairfield University and Travis Ford have made a commitment for Ford to study and play lacrosse after his graduation from Webster Thomas in 2016.
The sophomore midfielder and face off specialist had a great performance at the Maverick Showtime Tournament last summer where he won the fastest shot contest (96mph). He was also named to the 2016 All-Star Team.
Playing with the Sweetlax Lacrosse Club he also played in the in the MVP, King of the Hill and Crabfest tournaments. In the fall he played in the Harvard Crimson Classic and the Quaker Fest. While playing for the Thomas off season team he played at Tully and in the Webster Classic and Bison Bowl.
Last season, as a freshman, he produced 5g-4a, picked up 36 gbs and won 58 face offs (64%).
Before making his commitment to Fairfield, he looked at Yale, Cornell, Hofstra, Albany, Rutgers and Vermont.
