-- Churchville-Chili remains one of five undefeated teams in Section Five with their overtime win over Hilton, 13-12. The Cadets led for most of the game before Churchville-Chili took control in the fourth quarter. With an exception of two minutes in the first quarter, Hilton led or tied for the first 38 minutes. Hilton scored the first two goals in under two minutes with goals from Hunter Duford and Zeus Doser. The Saints came back and took their early lead with three goals (two from Jason Tebo and one from Corey Yunker). Yunker finished the game with 3g-5a to lead the Saints. The Cadets quickly took back the lead with goals from Duford (2), Doser and Zachary Mitrano. The Cadets led 6-3 with 10:53 left in the second quarter.
The Saints slowly chipped away the lead through the second and third quarters eventually tying the game with 7:28 remaining in the third quarter. Austin Orengo assisted Jacob Buck for his long goal of the game (he finished with 1g-3a). Hilton re-doubled their efforts and scored back to back to lead 10-8. Doser scored his third and Mitrano scored his second for the Cadets. Churchville-Chili scored the last two goals of the third quarter to tie the game again (10-10).
In the fourth quarter, Yunker scored his last goal to take the first lead for the Saints since early in the first quarter. Hilton tied the game just over a minute later with Duford`s final goal of the night. Churchville-Chili took another lead three minutes later with junior Patrick Sheridan scoring his second goal of the night with an assist from Yunker. The final Cadet goal of the game was scoring with a hard drive to the cage by Michael Richardson. Richardson forced overtime with 3:04 remaining in regulation.
Both teams had opportunities in the final three minutes but neither could take the lead. Hilton won the draw in overtime and had first shot at the cage. The Cadets had multiple shots on Churchville-Chili goalie Matt Cobb, but could not capitalize. He finished with nine saves for the Saints, including a save in overtime. The Saints took control of the ball and went to offense. Sheridan scored his third goal of the night and second in a row to give Churchville-Chili the win as time expired in the first overtime period. Both team`s next game is next Tuesday with the Saints playing Brockport and the Cadets facing Penfield.

-- In out of section play, Jamesville-Dewitt (Section III) defeated Fairport 8-5 to remain undefeated this season. This was the first game this season where the Rams were held under 10 points and only the second time they did not defeat their opponents by at least 9. Only three Rams made the scorebook with Griffin Cook and Ryan Archer scoring three goals apiece and Andrew Barclay adding one (one goal was unattributed). Conversely, Fairport had four different scorers with only Reese Burek scoring two goals.
The game was close for three quarters before the Rams took off. They scored five of the last six and the Red Raiders could not keep pace. Fairport led 4-3 at halftime before JD took off. The game was tied 5-5 with 8:45 left in the final quarter before JD scored the final three goals. In the cage for Fairport, Tyler Wetzel finished with 13 saves.
